Questions about a new medication

My mom in in the moderate stage with Alzheimer’s. For several years she has been prescribed/taking Donepezil and at this weeks visite to her memory care specialist she was taken off the donepezil and prescribed Rivastigmine. Has anyone had any experience with this drug?

My mom was on the Rivastigmine patch. It supposedly works further along than donepizel and has some mood stabilizer in it too. Mom had trouble keeping the patches from falling off. The other issue was that her Medicare part D plan quit covering it. This was several years ago.

Thank you. The mood stabilizer is something she needs. Hopefully it helps better than the donepizel.
