Hi all, I think often women's toe problems are from having them smushed in our too-narrow shoes. I got a pair of these socks: https://www.my-happyfeet.com/collections/toe-alignment-socks or https://www.happyfeet.net/product/happy-feet-original-foot-alignment-socks/ (I can't find the exact ones). Right at first they felt uncomfortable, but they really help. I put them on at night so my toes can spread when I'm not wearing shoes. I don't use them all the time—just when my toesies start to feel "off" again.

Good morning! Looking forward to a better week, senior center Monday, grandson’s high school Tuesday for Veterans Day celebration, phone appointment with primary care Wednesday since I’m not willing to wait until face to face appointment the 25th for answers to different test, especially why MRI is now needed and hopefully a better restful week.

Beth, if I can find one, I’ll share a picture of our Louisiana snow when the rare occasion happens.

from the size of my boys this was probably early 70s. Nothing close to what I’ll probably see here in Missouri.

Great photo, Ron! I know the Southerners (the kids) feel it is a real treat when they get snow. Our grandsons from Houston always hope for snow when they come up at Christmas.

Our snow did not amount to much. There is a little bit on the grass and anything that hit the pavement/sidewalks/driveways melted on contact as the ground is still warm. Some areas north of us received more snow. It is cold today, though. 25 degrees! The 10 day forecast shows 50's and 60's beginning this Tuesday. What I wonder is this: am I done with lawn mowing for the year?

Have a good Sunday and a good week, everyone.

I imagine there wasn't much sweating going on during the race. I have never seen that happen before. I think you are probably finished with mowing, Beth .

Chilly here this morning, in the forties. Killing freeze in the mornings, then back to the seventies during the week. I still have some pretty tall crab grass on the north side of the yard with green grass west of the yard. Green Country is now tan II r brown country. Trees are rapidly losing leaves. I do have one Maple that has some pretty leaves, just a few with maybe more to come. Another Maple is sort of yellow. Bradford pear trees aren't turning yet.

A guy on Face the Nation just said grocery prices are down. Wonder where he shops?

We're at 36 degrees but the NW wind makes it feel like 25. We expect it to drop to the low 20s tonight, then warm up by Tuesday. We're through mowing. It won't grow enough to make mowing worthwhile, even though we will have warm spells.

I'm going to a movie this afternoon. Chair Chi Monday after lunch at the senior center, so I'll probably see Ron again, and Griefshare at the Lutheran church in the evening. One of my neighbors is fresh out of the hospital from back surgery and I plan to visit him in the near future. His family is mobbing the place this weekend and I'll wait until his kids go back to work and the crowd clears.

Help…I started getting my home in order for the Thanksgiving visitors and am finding that I am enjoying almost every bit of stuff that I mean to put away. One thing leads to another and while I am. busy as can be nothing seems to be getting done. I can not stay focused on the job at hand!!! I am remembering a cartoon of a couple leaving a house and one say to the other "Don't you just love to be at Jane's. She is such a good housekeeper."

Join the club, Judith, on not getting anything done. There's still time..

Pretty trees, JeriLynn, the second picture reminds me of highways in NE Arkansas. I have a really pretty orange crepe myrtle in the back yard, just saw it today. Forty six here but feels like 41 with a.north wind. But it is sunny. I'm not ready for cold weather.

Ron, your post about the black eyed peas reminded me there used to.be a restaurant in Tulsa that had absolutely the best ones I ever ate.. Never tried rice and gravy but bet it has to be good. I like potatoes any and every way they're cooked. Everything sounds good.

Watching Steel Magnolias - good movie.. Good night, sleep well.

Zetta - How long does it take to drive from Boise to Portland? If the shutdown is still going on, that flight might be a problem.

I love seeing baby squirrels, they're so cute. We get quite a few too - they just bounce around. In the spring we get a lot of bunnies too - also cute.

Beth - I'm not ready for winter and the threat of snow. And that cross country championship looks like a big nope to me. 😄

JeriLynn - I love your fall colors.

The temperatures in Charleston have been so nice the entire time we were here. It was 75 today. It's currently raining, but it's that warm rain that you guys in the south get. When we get home it looks like rain every day for the next week. It'll be in the 50s so I'll take it.

I'm curious to see what our driveway looks like when we get home tomorrow night. I won't be able to see the full extent, but I'll see it Tuesday morning when I head out to the gym. I'm prepared to be horrified. 🙂

Last night Karyn and I did copy editing on the blog for four hours on the phone. I had to recharge my battery near the end of the call. But, we got a lot done, so I was pretty happy.

Theoretically we're taking off tomorrow evening for home. Keep your fingers crossed that our flight actually goes and that we're on it!

I went to Amazin' Asian for lunch and had garlic chicken. Couldn't eat it all so left half in a takeout container in the car while I watched "Regretting You" with a friend. Now my car smells like garlic. I don't know if it will repel rodents but I'm safe from vampires. 🧛

"Regretting You" is a pretty good movie. Not as good as "Steel Magnolias" but good.

Fingers crossed, GG. Lewis & Clark spent two years traveling from St. Louis to the mouth of the Columbia in 1803 - 1805, but we now can make the trip from Charleston to Portland in less than a day IF we can stop arguing long enough to use our technology.

According to MapQuest, it takes 6 hours 19 minutes to drive from Boise to Portland on I-84 when the traffic is light. I assume it's more if you stop for lunch and less if you do it at night in a Corvette. Good luck. 🏁

One of my cousins called me to ask about our family history. He is doing searches on ancestry dot com. He has no children. I told him, I lost interest in genealogy since I have no one to pass stories on to. He is doing all of this in case any of the younger ones want to know something about our family in the future.

I have enough trouble trying to keep up with the grandchildren of my many cousins. They are not interested in me in any case, they don't even know I'm alive.

I had a bad day. Since I became a diabetic last month,I have not been eating sweets. But yesterday I had a big cookie, a brownie, a small piece of spice cake and a few small teddy bear cookies, and some sweet iced tea at my friend's women's luncheon. Today all day I felt like I had a hangover, although I had no alcohol. It seems like the sugar spike affected me badly. My blood sugar was a bit high last night, but not too high. I felt sluggish all day, I didn't even get dressed. I hope I'll feel better tomorrow.

    Good night.

    Good morning Friends,

Busy day here today. Got an apple pie in the oven. Run up to Tullahoma for DH's allergy shots (2 hours roundtrip), deliver items to granddaughter on the way up, stop in the Publix for last minute food items, take Dear Aunt another pair of shoes I ordered, final check the RV for the trip, and clean the fridge and the kitchen. And somewhere in the chaos, DH wants to make a loaf of cinnamon/raisin bread, lol. We'll get 'er done. Luckily the rest of the house is in order.

The SIL/BIL are traveling with us and tomorrow is SIL's birthday.

GG, I hope you have a smooth travel day.

Carl/Ron, hope you have a good lunch and great fellowship today.

Lorita - hope your car and pick up troubles get resolved.

Judith, I feel like I spend half my time trying to restore order to the chaos around me. I'm so glad I decided NOT to host a Thanksgiving dinner and we are thinking of going camping at Gulf Shores for Christmas.

    Iris, feel better today.

Snow flurries today or tomorrow. Everybody stay warm!

Broke my glasses and having to wear my prescription sunglasses, earliest appointment I could get is the 23rd. Forgot to leave water dripping and pipes froze up. Boiled bottle water to shave, hate going anywhere with a two day old beard. Right hearing aid not working, guess need to also make appointment for new hearing aids.

Waiting on Carl now, none of his women are here yet, which makes me believe he text them to let them know what time he’s coming, LOL

Ron, seems like you're having my recent luck. It is as cold as Kraut here this morning, sunny with a North breeze. About time to get out the thermals.

Saw Billy standing in the lot so fed him. Wore a jacket and cap and now my fingers feel frozen.

Ron, a hairdryer works great to thaw a pioe.but guessing that is i not something you have. I left the water dripping so it okay. Didn't take time to run more water for Billy.

Zetta, I got my electric throw out to use. I will call the plumber Wednesday to.check my propane heater. Meanwhile using electric heaters. Haven't put the DuraFlame together. I just wasn't feeling like it yesterday. Was afraid my nemesis was back so only had liquids yesterday and will do the same today.

Judith, I just talked to a lady from Florida Boys about how to store the caladium bulbs for next year. She said they are at their best the first year because the bulbs get smaller each year unlike most other bulbs that get larger. She said they have 45 acres of caladiums. There are other farms around for a total of 500 acres of caladiums. Can you imagine that? New brochures with new varieties will.he mailed the first of January.

JeriLynn, I love that picture! Our meadow has a line of trees along the west side and it is beautiful when the Bradford pears bloom. I have been craving an apple pie! Did get a can of apple pie filling, so maybe later. Have you ever baked an apple pie in a sack? Delicious. Have fun on your trip.. Be safe. Back later.

Iris, it looks like soybeans in the foreground. Guess the pasture begins on the other side of the fence. My neighbor, Ray, raises soybeans and he is beginning harvest this week.

Thanks, I am feeling better today, just intermittent pain.

I have water again, left the center around 11 this morning, Carl didn’t make it and he’s women walked right on by me. Back in the day I wouldn’t have allowed that, but I have lost my player ability.

I try to post one of my pictures every year. This one is right before my departure to Vietnam, when I was young and innocent. I can still hear my mother crying when I called home and told her where I was going.
