The pain of living with ALZ

Tonight was the hardest night so far. Which makes it the hardest day. Of the hardest week. Of the hardest month. Of the hardest year. So far. He forgot me for the first time. He promised he wouldn't, but I knew he couldn't possibly keep that promise. It just came so much faster than I was prepared for.

Oh my I’m so sorry this disease is ghastly, it’s the saddest thing ever especially the first time they forget the person they live the most and who loves them.

Maybe the most agonizing experience of the AD journey. I knew it would happen but was totally unprepared for how I would feel. It was devastating. I am so sorry.

reminds me of my grandmother. Had dementia & died in ‘68. Used to visit her often when I was in college as she alwsys lived next door to us. One day she asked her son:”who is that nice boy that comes to visit me?” ( to be read with Ukrainian accent)
