Just Sharing

I stumbled upon this poem because the slide image of a dragonfly caught my eye. My dear wife, now gone for four months dearly loved dragonflies. I found them pretty and interesting but never quite understood her fascination. When we were at our condo in Florida sitting on the balcony, dragonflies would show up in numbers, flying around us and lighting on the walls and furniture as if they knew how much she loved them. When I saw the slide it caused me to look further to find the poem associated with it. I have been unable to find the author but like to make it clear it is not my work (wish it was). Hope others find it helpful.

SILENT TEARS FOR YOU

There are days I look for signs,

Small reminders that love

Doesn’t fade with distance

Or disappear with time.

Dragonflies dance in the air,

Gentle and graceful,

Carrying whispers

Between worlds.

They hover like tiny miracles,

As if listening for the words

Our hearts still ache

To send.

So I whisper softly,

“I love you… I miss you,”

Hoping the breeze

Carries it upward.

And when a dragonfly pauses,

Just for a moment near me,

I feel the comfort

Of being heard.
