unsure of what and where to start for help with my dad

It's easy for people to say they want to stay home until the end, but it's not always reasonable. In memory care, there are people cooking, cleaning, providing care, and they all get days off and an unbroken night's sleep. Providing care alone with no support network may not be best for either you or your father.
That said, there are medications that can help with anger and anxiety. Many folks here have experience with medications. My spouse is on gabapentin for nerve pain (also sometimes given for other symptoms) and quietiapine for aggression.

Does your father have a neurologist or geriatric psychiatrist? I found that my mom's geriatric psychiatrist was most helpful with medication management for her symptoms. There are medications to help sleep, but it will depend on other meds he may be on. Are you authorized to speak with his doctors directly? Are you managing his medications to ensure he's taking them as prescribed?
