Iris, I have had both GPs on glucosamine chondroitin for a long time. Mike had a better one I have been giving for quite awhile. They are soft chews but I have to cut them in pieces and hide it in their food.

Judith, I may not. Mike said it was more than recommended but at her age pain reduction is probably more important for her. They have been outside most of the day. In now and she is really panting. She wants out so guess I will let her out. Watched a lot of ice dancing this afternoon. No idea how they do that. So sorry, Judith, about your sister. I hope she can stop having strokes and improve. I know how you feel.

Zetta, sounds like you are close to routes of wagon trains. Those were really brave people to be on a wagon train for six months into the unknown for them. I don't blame the Indians for trying to stop them from trying to take their land. You know there are 14 Indian Tribes in Oklahoma formerly known as Indian Territory. We live in the Creek Nation.

Time for the world news so will stop for now.

Carl, I had a chuckle! I was horrified by her bold behavior but I never imagined that an older man might have quite the opposite impression and indeed, motivation to keep a beard.

Lorita, I used to be glued to the television during the Olympics. But this year I forgot the opening ceremony and I didn't watch tonight. In fact, I have little motivation to watch any of it.

    Good night.

    Good morning,

Irish, tried to find the best places to be where a young woman would sit on my lap. No takers! I wonder if it’s the sign my son and daughter in law put around my neck saying; weight limit applies, fragile, breaks easily. After hours of waiting I finally bought a blow up doll and had her sit on my lap.

Judith - I'm so sorry about your sister. That's really hard. I hope she's getting all the care she needs.

Thanks for posting that clip of Sonja Henie - I'd never seen her skate. Skating has definitely come a long ways since then!

HB - You're like my s.o. He won't set foot in a gym, but give him a good trail and he's all over it. I hope you get to hike around soon. Well, once your knee is healed and the snow is gone.

You're absolutely right about the costuming on Dark Shadows - gorgeous costumes.

Iris - I can't believe that woman would just go and sit on that guy's lap like that! Call me old-fashioned, but I'd never do that (at that age, or any age).

Up here in the PNW - rain all day - and for the next many days.

The trees keep thinking its spring already and more flowers are appearing, and I'm hoping against hope that it doesn't snow.

Otherwise, it's been a full day of house cleaning, and then a board game tonight.

It's after 2am now, so I should probably go get some sleep.

No stranger has ever jumped on me like that either. I'm pretty sure an assault like that is a crime. What if Santa just had a hip or knee replaced? My neighbor's Pekingese Sassy climbs in my lap every time I'm there, but we're not strangers.

Morning I hope all of our friends who are under the weather are better this morning.

It's cloudy and cool here, even had a few drops of rain, very few.

Watched some Olympics this morning. Sad that the skier who injured her ACL a couple of weeks ago crashed again this morning and was lifeflighted to a hospital. Iris, I watched some of the opening ceremonies and didn't care for them.

Mike called this morning to check on Sheena. Will start her on antibioics. I will go pick up those, more pain meds and Dura Flex in the morning and take Stormy to get his allergy shot.

Don't forget the Super Bowl later today!

Ron, I think the long white beard was the key. Also young women might be bolder in SoCal. 😄

Ron…OK, I will change my vote to keep it.

Actually Oklahoma is home to 39 federally recognized Native American tribes, more than any other state, with many of these sovereign nations having their headquarters within the state, including the Cherokee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, Creek, and Seminole nations, famously removed to the region….Trail of tears. The percentage of persons born here with Native American ancestry is huge.

This guy skates all the way into his finger tips…Russian influence. Incase you missed it

Charles was a quarter Cherokee and not sure how much Osage. His grandfather was part Osage but didn't want to claim it. Charles was on the Cherokee roles. I'm only a 32nd Cherokee on daddy's side.

We worked at the hospital with several Indians from different tribes -Blue Bird was a POW in WWIi -he really had some sad stories;Red Eagle,One Bear and Horse Chief who was an artist He painted several murals on hallway walls and near elevators. A.C. Blue Eagle had a beautiful mural he painted on the auditorium wall. Lots of our patients were Indians The Creek and Cherokee tribal complexes are in Green Country where we live..

Watching the Super Bowl and.now halftime. So far the game is going all right for me.

    Good night - sleep tight

Los Angeles county has the highest number of Native Americans, estimated at 233,000. Some are indigenous to this area and some moved here.

    Good night.

Lorita and Judith - I didn't know that about Oklahoma and the Native American tribes. I knew we have a few in Washington state, but I'm pretty sure we don't have 39.

Big day in sports. It's sad that skier Lindsey Vonn crashed. I read that she broke her leg and had to have surgery. I'm sad for her.

For the Super Bowl - I saw a lot of blue and green today. 🙂

I finished up my continuing legal education classes today. Yay! Done with that for the next couple of years, and who knows, maybe I'll be retired by that point.

    Good morning,

Hard cough and sore throat this morning.

GG, congratulations on your completing your continuing legal classes.

My Great Great Grandmother was a Creek Indian Princess and many years ago my sister and her family lived on a reservation in Florida.

Morning, pretty day, supposed to be 79, 26 degrees above average for his time of year.

I was going to take Stormy for his allergy shot and get meds for them but Just didn't feel like it. My left side hurt but is better now and I have that left sided headache so didn't think I would go. Can't figure out the headache. It isn't my forehead much but the left side of my head and into the left top. Many years ago the top of my head hurt like this and the doctor I worked with said to take Librium and an aspirin and it worked so will try that again - might work and won't hurt. I need to sit in the sun some today to get my Vitamin D. Back later.

Mint, I think that is a good idea so you all could be together if you all had to be in AL. Something to think about for sure.

    Congratulations ,GG good for you!

    Good morning all

Ron I hope your sore throat and cough aren't leading up to something bad. Take care of yourself.

Todays a week since I came down with flu A. Today I almost feel human if I'm not coughing. And the coughing continues constantly. DH feels better but also has a cough. Our coughs sound totally different. I had every symptom ever and DH has had fatigue & coughing. So very different. I do think him getting the different antiviral made a world of difference for him. Neither one of us has any get up and go, but with these coughs, we can't be in the public.

Lorita with a beautiful day maybe the GP's can sun themselves and you won't have to be lifting up/down. We all do whatever we can to help our pets. They aren't really pets but family.

I've cleared this week of all appointments in an abundance of caution. I wouldn't want to be around me!! This will give me time to get documents ready for the accountant. I don't have much to get together but I like to see exactly where the funds have gone each year. Its a good balances and checks for me to go through. DH thinks its ridiculous and he's correct, but I can't help it.

Beautiful day here. I plan on parking both of us outside in the sun after lunch for some natural vitamin D.

Please be careful everyone. Wash those hands!

Hope both of you feel better soon Eagle. I have heard those coughs really hang on.

Both GPs have been out most of morning. I think I will sit in the sun with them this afternoon.. For once, there is no wind. You can almost count the.number of calm days here on ten fingers..

    Good morning Front Porch Friends.

Lorita. Sounds like you need some rest. I think all the lifting you do, inside and out, could be the reason for some of your soreness. Get some rest sitting outside in the sun. Take advantage of those good days when you can. Im waiting for a warm day i can sit outside, with my morning ☕️ coffee.

GG. Congratulations on the completion of your legal classes.

Ron. Sorry you have a sore throat, due to your coughing. Maybe get some strong cough drops and keep in your mouth during the day. I did that when I was recovering from the flu.

Mint. That is a very good idea having you and your sister in the same place. I was so happy with the care my DH got in the facility he was in, I told my kids if I had to go, that's where I want to be.

Eagle. It took me almost 3 weeks to start feeling human. Please take care you don't want to start overdoing it too soon. Sitting out in the sun and getting lots of rest is a very good idea. Take your time in wanting to get up and go.

The weather here in Boise is cold and cloudy, we had some rain this morning. We did not get to walk the Oregon Trail, too cold and windy. The path we want to walk is 3 miles long.

    Take care all, hugs Zetta

Warm and sunny weather here in Texas and the beach is beautiful. We gathered shells at Padre Island National Seashore yesterday.

Today has been a lazy day of walking the campground, sitting and people watching. There are folks here from Minnesota that come stay 5 months every year!

BIL grilled chicken breast for dinner last night and SIL complained it was tough. So I have repurposed the chicken in the crockpot for shredded chicken tacos for dinner tonight. Refried beans with red peppers, onion and sour cream with salsa for the tortillas, made a corn salad and have a chocolate cake for dessert.

Hope everyone feeling poorly improves quickly. Be safe!

JeriLynn I worked with a friend who went with her family every year to South Padre Island for their vacation. They loved it. Have fun.

You're probably right, Zetta, but I have to do it. Sheen do took Stormy with mea has stayed outside almost all day-even walked to the back of the house and back.Decided I would go get more medicine for the GPs. Stormy went with me I'd now worn out and sleeping. The vets clinic was uber busy as usual. Got two antibiotics for Sheena, went on into town and filled up with gas then went by the credit union. Only gone under two hours but that was enough . Glad that is done.

We have had four drownings during the cold weather in two separate incidents -- two little brothers under ten and two friends under ten, fell through the ice on a pond and.creek and drowned.

I just saw the very last of curling- the USA will play for Gold. Sorry I didn't see the whole game.

    Good night.

I went into the gym today and it was a ghost town! I think there were a lot of people who stayed out late last night and partied. The parking lot was practically empty. I'd say half of the people who I saw at the gym had on Seahawks jerseys, beanies, or socks.

Iris - I'd never heard the term "Foundational Black American" so I looked it up. I learned a lot.

I'm mostly Sicilian on my mom's side. My dad's side is French and several other things, but especially culturally, I identify as Sicilian. And I look like what I am, olive skin, dark hair (before it went white), etc.

GG, thanks for the FBA link, I learned some more history. I will be going to Italy in a couple of months, to Milan and Florence and Cinque Terre. Have you been there?

It's time for bed. Good night.

Morning warm and very windy right now but 100 miles north of here it's 20+ degrees colder. Glad I got things done yesterday.

I have a. March 2 appt. to get my taxes done so have started working to get things together so I won't have to reschedule. Been doing this for 64 years so guess it never ends until …

    Enjoy your day.
