Morning.
Iris thanks for the reminder about being hydrated. DH is excellent about always having water with him. I am pretty good about it, but certainly could be better. I'm going to be more mindful about it now.
Zetta I can see this taking three weeks to feel human again. I'm just not putting any pressure on us to go anywhere or do anything. Except sit in the sun! The coughs we both have sound horrible, I wouldn't want the evil stares people would give us if we'd get out!!
It sounds like spring outside. I hope not or summer will be awfully long. I could take this weather all yr round though.
Ron how's the throat today?
Carl what trouble are you going to be up to today?
GG you seem to always be busy, good for you. Finishing up your legal classes has to feel good.
JerriLynn I'm glad your enjoying our TX coast. Sounds like your just rolling with it when SIL has a comment about something. I'm not sure I would have been so nice!
Need to unload the dishwasher then probably sit! Everyone lets be careful out there.

Iris….I love Italy especially Florence. Milan is a big busy city but it does have the Last Supper by Da Vinci. The
Cinque Terreis interesting especially if you are a hiker. I would love to see your itinerary.Hug to Sheena.
Taxes…I have things that always come in after the deadline so always an extention.

No trouble for me, Eagle. I find very little trouble since I stopped spending most of my time looking for it. I have pretty well recovered from my cold and am out and about.
Pretty day here, 70 and sunny. I went to the car wash and ate lunch at the sr ctr. One of the widows complained that her rent is going up 25% and will now equal 50% of her income. Others commented that the price of plywood doubled in a week after the tariffs on Canadian lumber, so that is what's happening. The stock market is up, and the White House is very proud of the economy, so all is well.
Nurse Heather trimmed my toenails and sanded the callouses at sr ctr. While she was doing that, she checked my pulses and looked for skin sores and infections. I don't have diabetic neuropathy or peripheral vascular disease, but I may someday so this is a good time to start having someone look at my feet once in a while. She looks at my chart each time she sees me, so she is checking for any changes. She does a better job of trimming the nails than I do, too.
I let the laundry and dishes back up while I was ill, so I'm off to deal with them. Have a nice day🌞

Good for you Carl, for finding someone to trim your toenails. The older I get the farther away my toes get.. Glad you are better.
Finally made the angel food cake and it barely fit in my cake/pie carrier. It's so light I can barely cut it. It was the kind you only mix for 1.5 minutes -no folding in dry ingredients. That kind is better, I think.
Going to bed early tonight. Good night

Good morning.
I hope all those under the weather are feeling better.
Gothic G— it must be a relief to have your continuing education classes in the rearview mirror.
Iris— I had never heard FBA used as a term either. When I looked it up, I noticed our county's African American Museum website uses it in their discussion of the area during the colonial era.
Mint— I think that's a conversation you should have with your sisters. Perhaps pick a CCRC for the future so you're a short stroll away. My mom and her sisters joked about all moving in together but now it's just the 2 left and neither is budging so one is outside of Boston and the other in the Philly 'burbs. In a good year, I can manage to get them together once or twice. More would be nice, but they're weirdly competitive.
Eaglemom— I hope the lingering cough releases you soon. It's very thoughtful of you to limit your exposure to others even though you're likely no longer contagious.
Carl— I hope you got caught up with your chores. It's great that the senior center makes foot care available. That's awesome.
Weather here has finally moderated a bit. It's headed for a high of 40F which feels positively balmy after the last couple of weeks. I had a telehealth visit with my endocrinologist to go over my labs which have been an issue the last 2 draws. He wants me to revisit once I'm healed and we'll discuss adding a second thyroid medication to the Synthroid. He thinks stress/pain could have impacted the numbers I was getting.
PT at 1pm. It seems to be going well enough although I'm having more pain now than I initially did. The bruising is worse as well. PT said he'd remove the bandages today. They look awful and I'm afraid I still have some bleeding or drainage so it'll need to be covered.
I think I'll make some sort of chicken stir fry for dinner. DH is not the culinary wizard he claims he is. So far, he's undercooked a potpie and lasagna and served them tepid. Then he pulled a face when I asked for a grilled cheese sandwich insisting I "supervise". How does a man get to be his age and not know how to throw together a simple grilled cheese? Not to be undone, DS was shocked that I made him fix his own quesadillas claiming he didn't know how. The weaponized incompetence is real.

Good morning.
HB, should you be standing at the stove right now? I think you need some more days of R&R. What happened to the meals you had prepared and stored in the freezer?
Carl, I used to attend a senior center that offered podiatry visits, not only for toenail clipping but for any podiatry needs. I got great advice regarding my plantar fasciitis. Sadly, that senior center was closed during the pandemic shutdowns and never reopened.

Morning, another sunny, warm day. Maybe I can sit in the sun a while this afternoon-watching men's luge now. I wonder how the athletes learn how to do these things without killing themselves.

While in college I studied "body language". I made watching the hearing this morning very interesting. Now watching couples skating.
Picked up lunch from Taco Bueno….yes it is on my 1 square mile plateau…lol

I watched some of it, all I could stand. Didn't you think she was nervous, always fiddling wih her hair pushing it back time and again? Watched men's and women's luge and slalom. Do you know when more curling will be on or is over?

The hair, constant adjusting of the microphone, the hand on her face and the shuffling of papers are all telling. As an attorney with jury experience she knows this.

Curling at 10 tonight. I think I fixed a water hydrant today. The frost free one by the corral had a split in the above ground pipe and a little hole. I found a tube of JB.Water Weld, mixed it, put it on the breaks, let it sit a while then filled the water tank and no leaks Hope it holds, much cheaper than having a plumber replace the long Pipe. It goes way below ground and three feet above ground. Charles was a.big fan of JB Weld so it is good stuff. Fingers crossed.
Good night, everyone.

Hope your pipe fix works Lorita, I love that you knew how.

eaglemom - It's important to stay hydrated. I haven't always been as good about that as I should, but it's easier to do now that I go to the gym all the time. I hope you're starting to feel better!
Iris - I love Florence, it's such a pretty city and home of the Uffizi Gallery. Milan is nice too, but I prefer Florence. I haven't been to Cinque Terre.
Carl - I'm kind of weird when it comes to my feet. I don't like pedis (just the thought squicks me out) so I do it all myself. So far, so good. We'll see what happens when I get closer to 80. I might have to just deal.
Lorita - I haven't had angel food cake in so long even though I love it. Maybe once I'm off the ABCs (in mid-April), I'll make one.
HB - Yeah, I'm glad to have the continuing education done, but really it's only the deadline that's annoying. I actually like taking classes. If I had the time, I'd go take something at a junior college.
I'm glad your PT is going well, even if it is somewhat painful.
I can't cast any stones at your DH or your DS. I'm kind of like them, and my s.o. is the one who cooks. If I had to do the cooking we'd have spaghetti and salad every day. 🙂 I can make a grilled cheese sandwich and quesadillas though.
As for me, I'm back to my normal routine now that I'm done with classes. Gym, writing, etc. I've been spending some time on bluesky posting about my blog, but also seeing what's there. So far it's not so bad.
As I was catching up on the news tonight I saw that Bud Cort passed away. Very sad. Harold and Maude is one of my favorite movies, and he and Ruth Gordon were so good in it. Great story, I loved that I can pick out most of the Bay Area filming locations (including the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz). Maybe I'll try to watch it again over the weekend. I have a particularly strong memory of seeing it with an ex-boyfriend at the Red Vic in the Haight in San Francisco, which was appropriate.

GG, spaghetti and salad, yum! I could go for that! I liked Harold and Maude, too.
Lorita, you are a Jill-of-all-trades.
I'm laying here watching former Super Bowl Halftime performances by Kendrick Lamar, Prince, Michael Jackson and Diana Ross. Michael gave the greatest performance, followed by Prince. The whole audience was on their feet and singing along! I wish I could have seen them when they performed.
I'm going to bed now. Good night.

Good morning,
Spaghetti and a salad, I’m ready for some. My son that lives in Dallas was visiting brother and sister in law in Plano and my SIL who is French but raised in Naples had made Spaghetti for dinner. She asked him if he would like some and he sit down and ate it all, not knowing it was for everyone. They all had a big laugh and she made more. She loves to see someone enjoying her food!
I’ve been having a time getting back to a half way normal life since the freeze. I had a plumber out for a water leak, only to find out the leak was coming from the hot water tank and I would need a RV repairman to fix it. RV repairman had to replace the hot water tank and I asked if he could look at the backed up sewer pipe. I was told that they don’t do that and I would need a plumber to fix it. Called a plumber yesterday and everything is now fixed. I was finally getting back to normal from the hard coughing that had my chest sore till yesterday. The plumber working on the sewer had the smell so bad in here, even with the door left open, I had to go outside. The cold wind was almost as hard on me as the smell, but I finally was smart enough to go wait it out in my son’s house. Back to coughing a lot this morning, but at least everything is done.
VA this morning for Urologist visit and hormone shot to keep the prostate cancer from raising its big ugly face again.

Good morning.
Ron, you were fortunate to get your hot water tank and sewer line work completed so quickly. I hope you can stay warm while being out for your appointments.

☹️ Even though my psa is looking good, I was told because my Gleason score is high, I will always be taking a shot every six months. 😫

Good luck on your appts. today, Ron. Sunny and windy here. Had groceries delivered and put away.
Sheena won't eat anything this morning. She loves cheese and I wrap her meds in it but she won't eat it. I opened her mouth and got her pain pill down but I'm not going to worry her with the antibiotics. Oh, She just ate a powdered donut! Maybe she will eat something later. I tried but she wouldn't eat. She waned to go outside so she's laying on the north side of the house out of the wind. She seems more content outside.

Sheena has been sleeping, then ate her food with the antibiotics in it. She wanted outside and barked to come back in . There are three steps to the porch. Sometimes she.can get her front feet on the first step and.I lift her back end while she moves her feet to the next steps. Not easy for either of us but it works. Whatever it takes we will do. Drying clothes so gotta go.
