Bathroom troubles
Forgive me if this has been asked before. My DH no longer knows what the toilet is or what he needs to do when in front of it. I have been assisting with a urinal for him to pee into. (Also, i have a raised commode on the toilet as he resists sitting and I'm struggling getting him too sit down for a BM.)
I am at my wits end some days with trying to get him to go. He will hold it for up to 10 hours at times. I'm concerned about UTI's and dehydration. He wears diapers but has never soiled them. Has anyone else gone through this?
He is in a daycare program 3 days a week and they are getting frustrated too. They don't have the staff to spend the 1/2 hour with him in the washroom. Help!

I haven’t reached that stage - yet - with my husband but found a video by Teepa Snow that has some tips for getting someone to accept sitting down on the toilet I hope this link works, I’m technology challenged!

Hopefully someone with real life experience can provide tips

Thank you! Yes I always take him into the bathroom to use the urinal hoping the association will help. I listen to Teepa all the time but had not seen this video so thank you for that. My DH seems afraid of the commode so Teepa's suggestion to keep his eyes away from the sight of the toilet may help. Also the height of the commode to be higher at back. This will help I'm sure!
