PET scan

My DH had a brain PET scan required in order for him to be eligible for infusion medications. Are there centiloid levels that are too high for eligibility? His level was 127.7. Does anyone have info on this? Nervously awaiting info from neurologist. Thank you.

I wish I could help. It indicates significant plaque but I'm not sure if there is a high level cut off. MCI or mild dementia are also part of the criteria.

Myself and family members were noticing changes for at least 2 years before my DH would agree to testing. His PCP, who is also a friend, wasn’t seeing it and I had to push for an appointment with a Neuropsych; extensive testing was done at that appointment which helped my DH realize that he had issues. We were then referred to a Neurologist who did bloodwork and further studies to diagnose AD. His recent MRI didn’t show any brain bleeds so I’m hopeful he will be eligible for these medications. Thank you for your prayers. I will pray for you and all those suffering from this disease and their caregivers and family.

Thank you so much! I believe in prayer! Prayers are always answered; maybe not in the way we’re hoping for but God doesn’t make mistakes! We have to trust him.
