This is my first posting to the group. My DH was recently diagnost with Alzheimer's. It's not too bad right now, but he is also a Diabetic and a Kidnery receipient. He takes so many medications now wtih anti-rejection drugs I'm not sure how any new drugs will affect everything. Has anyone had any experience with Diabeties or Transplants and Alzheimer's?

    Hi @JLC9485

My DH has very mild diabetes, controlled with oral meds. He does not have the co-morbid conditions that you list. My guess is that any comorbidity has negative affect on any type of dementia. As others have put it - if you’ve seen one dementia patient, you’ve seen one dementia patient. Each person progresses differently.

The big things you will need to watch for are infections. This will have the biggest impact on your LO. Have oral thermometer and urine test kits at the ready. Any sudden behavioral changes that are ‘not baseline’ for your DH needs medical attention.

Glad your found us. Stay in touch.
