Anxiety and Agitation getting worse

I wrote a couple of weeks ago that my DH in MC is having a lot of what I guess is anxiety and agitation. He is constantly in motion. The nurse and aides told me yesterday that he wanders the halls all night going in and out of other residents rooms. He has trouble sitting still in one place for very long. Now he had gotten to the point where he won't let the aides touch him. He starts getting upset if they try to shave him or change his clothes. He doesn't want to be touched. He has stopped wearing underwear and won't allow them to put any on him. Yesterday, he took off his shirt while I was there. The aide said he does that now quite frequently. He undresses and walks around. I wanted him to put on underwear but he said he didn't need it. I am at my wits end trying to know how to help him. The doctor increased his Trazadone again a few days ago but it hasn't helped. I think he needs to be on something else since the Trazadone doesn't seem to be working. Has anyone else dealt with this and did anything help?

I know how hard it is trying to figure out which med will work for your LO. It took several months before we finally got my LO calm. Finally she is now on Prozac once a day in the morning and Serequel once in the morning and again late afternoon. In between the two doses of Serequel I will sometimes give her a CBD gummy which her doctor is aware. You just have to keep trying different meds until you find the best for his anxiety.

There is a newly FDA approved drug for agitation in dementia patients, Auvelity. I don't know the cost, but there is the $2,100 annual cap for prescriptions.
