Hubby in MC taking him to doctor first time out

hubby has been in memory care 7 months. The facility said they would take him to doctors appointment with aide and I’d meet them there. Now I find out they cannot do it so I’ll be taking him. It’s his first time out in 7 months. Trying to think what I can give him for the ride in car to distract him. The ride is about a good 15 minutes. Suggestions appreciated.

take someone with you. PWD have been known to try to open the vehicle door while going down the highway.

We hired medical transport for dad as our concern was getting him back into the facility after the appointment.

If you do drive, could you get someone to drive you both in the backseat with the child safety locks set up?

I always found that a snack and a drink kept my DH busy in the car. I never had any problems getting him to a doctor's appointment until he had mobility problems. Then I hired medical transport.

doctor visit went well. No problems. Even went out for lunch. Once back he wasn’t too happy. What’s interesting is I tell him we can go home or out to lunch again etc. he says going home and having to go back he can’t do. Why does he know enough that he will have a hard time.
