supposed to increase acetylcholine in brain which is a chemical messenger impacting memory and neuroplasticity. ive read that when taken you should allow a day or two off periodically so that acetylcholine doesnt get too high. has anyone taken it? dosage (200 mg, other?),frequency? effectiveness?

    I came here today hoping to find conversations about the same kinds of things… Lion's mane mushrooms, Bacopa monnieri, and Rhodiola rosea - all nootropic herbs, and Red Light Therapy.

    Has anybody tried any of these kinds of things?

    We are Keto/Carnivore. I tried Delta G Ketones for about a year in various doses and times of day. Also Huperzine A, CBD, Zinc, Vitamin B1, B3, B12, B complex. Nothing helped.

    Because of our low carb eating, we do use Magnesium L-Threonate and Vitamin D3/K2. It helps with sleep too.

    We have tried many other supplements. Nothing has helped. (Others: Lithium Orotate, Tudca, Nootropics, Phosphatidyl Serine, BrainEssence.) We use a little MCT/Coconut oil mix, but it is rather limited since my wife does not have a gall bladder, it can upset her stomach or cause the "runs". (We are not able to use it the way Dr. Mary Newport suggests.)

    I am about ready to stop throwing money at supplements...or at least, take a break.

    It is not unusual to try everything. If something "worked" it would be all over the news. Just do no harm…be aware of side effects.
