Finally have answers, now what?!

I had been telling the doctors that something was going with my mom for a year and they finally did test. This year the test confirmed that her memory is fading. I just hate that it took so long. My mom started needing more care now, so I had to put her in a rehab, because I am exhausted. I’ve been taking care of her since 2018. My emotions and thoughts are everywhere. You can tell by this post.

Welcome. I’m glad you finally have answers, but unfortunately it probably doesn’t change much. Has she seen a lawyer? This is incredibly important. You will need a DPOA. Is the move to a rehab facility expected to be permanent? Maybe you can use this time to catch your breath and make some plans for the future. Keep in mind your future matters too. Being a good daughter doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your dreams and happiness. You will find a great group of people here who understand. Feel free to browse the posts (you can search old posts for a specific topic), ask questions or just rant about the unfairness of it all.
