Today is our 59th wedding anniversary. When I visit him in MC today, I will take him a cupcake and tell him what day it is. He will look surprised for just a second and then it will pass. He won't/ can't remember anything these days much less our anniversary. But he will enjoy the cupcake and I remember what day it is. Sigh.

    Happy anniversary and congratulations on a milestone in spite of the circumstances. DH and I would have celebrated 58 years on June 8; he is gone three years now, but the anniversary is still bittersweet. Sometimes it seems like just yesterday. Time is fleeting, no regrets, we had a great ride. Hoping fond memories will strengthen and sustain you. Blessings.💕💕

    Congratulations on your anniversary. Our anniversary was a few days ago. Of course my DW had no idea but with all my caregiving duties 24/7, I might have forgot too if not getting a reminder of past memories on Facebook. 🤔😳😂

    Happy Anniversary. To be married that long is a true blessing and a testament to your deep love. It is bittersweet but you will remember that love long after this journey is over. Our anniversary was a couple of weeks ago (would have been 39) but now that he is gone, I celebrated by buying myself some flowers, opening a bottle of wine, and toasting the true love I experienced with him. Sending loving thoughts and hugs!

    Happy Anniversary. Our 48th was last week and my DW had no idea. Remember the good times, it’s all we can do.

    Thank you all so much for your anniversary wishes. They meant a lot to me. I'm happy to report that he enjoyed the cupcakes. In fact, as soon as he saw them his eyes lit up and he asked if he could have one. He ended up eating two! Then we worked puzzles. He was still working one when I quietly snuck out feeling happy/sad. He may not have understood our anniversary but he enjoyed a few minutes of joy eating his cupcakes.

    Those little joys like that - his eyes lighting up, working puzzles together - those are the precious moments we hold onto. Glad you had a nice day.

    Our 50th will be here in October and of course she won't know it. She forgot we are married about 7 years go.
