Hospice.

Hi: My DW has had VD for almost 3 years. She is 78. She has now been in Hospice for 4 months. I go to see her daily, she is bed bound. She can no longer walk, talk, feed herself or help herself daily bathroom care. The must put her in a wheelchair in the morning so she can be feed. She cannot move her hands or feet. If she does speak it only one or two words, that don't make sense. How much longer does she have to suffer the indignities of living. I don't feel she is living a life that she would want to. Legally there is nothing I can do. And to be honest I don't know if I could. I'm sorry everyone, I go out there daily to be with her and she isn't mentally there anymore.

I am so sorry for you and your wife. Of course she wouldnt want to be living like this. No one would choose this for them self or their loved ones. Its a cruel disease. Cancer is much kinder: at least you have some hope; and it’s usually resolved, one way or the other, within a few years - rather than this slow inevitable march to the end over sometimes many, many years. Must stay strong and pray for God’s mercy.

Well I dont want to scare you but you have only been living this for 4 months, we have been living this for 5 plus years, this disease is more cruel when it doesnt kill the person.
