This diagnosis is so difficult. How do you go on from this? And how do you do it alone? My heart goes out to anyone with this disease. I knew it from many years ago that there was a problem, But doctors always told me, it's just stress, Take this, you'll feel better. So many doctors, so many years later. I am so happy that they are coming out with ways to help now. And I believe a cure, will be coming soon.

Tammy, you are not alone. Im sorry you went thru what you did before you finally got an answer. Yes, I think there will be a cure in the future. I wasnt expecting my friends and family telling me there wasnt anything wrong with me. How about you?

Dear Tammy....

I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Like you in knew something was wrong at least two years before I was finally diagnosed. I kept hearing "you know you are getting old and what you are experiencing is part of getting old" which was an "un"fing"acceptable answer. I just kept going from Dr to Dr until one finally listened to me and ordered a spinal tap. Sure as sugar, I had Alzheimer's.

But Tammy, please do not despair, there are treatments today that really help, not only with symptoms but ones that possibly halt or at the very least slow down progression. I am currently on Leqembi going for my 19th infusion in a couple days. I recently heard back from my neurologist regarding a comparative CAT scan that was taken right before I started Leqembi and it was the same as the prior one and also showing slightly less plaque than before Please find a good neurologist who specializes in the treatment of Alzheimer's ASAP. If you don't like them, fire them ASAP, and try another one. Hang in there. Keep us all informed on how it is going for you. Rooting for you. 💖
