Medigap F, G and N, also high deductible

It's real now, we are moving from CA to NC. New house closes Friday, getting our home here ready for listing. We are leaving Kaiser Medicare Advantage and i am thinking of original medicare for my husband, since we are moving out of state and keeping Kaiser is not an option. We have the rare opportunity to select Original Meducare without health disqualification. I will likely find a medicare advantage plan for myself but am confused between F, G and N. He would be eligible for F since he is 78, although I understand it is not avail to new Medicare recipients. G sounds great but is very pricey. There are high deductibles, not sure if that's the way to go. I know very little about N. For those that have faced this decision, any suggestions, information or advice.

F is usually much higher than G …. Which is ridiculous because the only difference is the less than $300 doctors, etc deductible. Both pay all the other deductibles and co-pay that Original Medicare leaves. N is a watered down version of G, but I don’t remember the difference. I don’t have much love for the high deductible options. In my opinion, you play with fire when selecting those at our age. My spouse and I both have G. I love it because I know what my costs are going to be - the monthly premium plus the less than $300 deductible. Don’t forget that you need a Part D plan for prescriptions. You can select a different Part D plan every year - whatever best covers your known prescriptions for the upcoming year.

When retired from teaching, I was on Medicare and a Horizon PPO that is like Blue Cross Blue Shield. I have stayed with this plan for over 15 years. I have never been denied for any medical testing, the co pay is low, and I have had no out of pocket for surgery. I would look at the list of doctors who accept these plans and what is or isn’t covered with your husband’s medical condition.
