MOm has been hospitalized - no injuries but they would rec waiting a few weeks before travel. For the 3.5 hour flight we'd need to find someone to assist my brother- do we look for a nurse or ? How do we find such a person- are there any resources for these sorts of things? thanks

My brother will be there, I will not. We may or may not need a nurse- should be ready for both options.

Does mom potentially need actual nursing care during the trip or just a second set of hands?

If it's the latter, could you fly out and help? If that's not possible, an agency may have an aide who could be hired with enough notice.

If you happen to be departing Florida, I can share the organization I used to travel with my dad.

sorry but that's a bit of an odd response to ask me to fly out and help- as if that would not be on the radar somehow?

    No offense intended.

The hospital might be able to suggest an agency. The discharge coordinator will have a list.

It's called Gomo Travel. An RN traveled w my dad. It was particularly helpful bc she could help bring his meds too. https://gomotravel.com/

Kerri and her team are amazing. Maybe you'll find something similar. Or even reach out to her to see if they could help you. I added the link above.

    Here's a little blurb:

GOMO Travel, LLC is a medical and senior travel assistance agency based in Cape Coral, Florida, that provides registered nurses as travel companions for individuals needing help with logistics, medical needs, or mobility issues while traveling. They specialize in personalized, door-to-door services for medical appointments, family visits, or leisure, offering support for conditions like dementia, anxiety, and general mobility challenges, and can be deployed rapidly nationwide.

    Wishing you well
