Reliving the past

Caring for my auntie who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s/ Dementia. She continues to relive the past and often refers to my mother and grandmother (who is deceased) as being among us! She calls out to them and talks to them as if they right there! My grandmother also passed from complications of Alzheimer’s! My mom took care of my grandmother as well! Now me being the only niece is taking care of her! How can I stay strong grieving them and taking care of her when I am constantly reminded they no longer here ! And when I remind her of their demise she cries uncontrollably!

Hello and welcome to 'here', but sorry for the reason. - you don't keep telling her. 'They are out on an errand' 'they are away on vacation'. Whatever works. Fiblets are our friends, and whatever works is what you use at the time.

MIL still asks about her folks sometimes. It is sad.

If she is hallucinating them, however, do tell her doctor, as that is another issue.

Also, is DPOA and HIPAA access in place?

welcome. I would not correct her and tell her they have passed. We usually say you need to live in their reality. I will attach a link about fibs that might be helpful.
