Update

I wrote on Sept. 9th about my DH breaking his left hip and wrist. At that time, the doctor did not think he was going to survive since his lungs were filling up. The hospital talked to us about hospice care and I was thinking that would be what would happen when he got back to his MC. After DH removed the cast on his wrist and then took off the brace they put on, he is finally in another cast and has left it on so far. He was close to death when I wrote but has made a remarkable recovery. His lungs are now clear and his hip and wrist are healing. He is still in some pain but nothing like it was earlier. And he has really surprised us by talking and making sense! He was discharged from the hospital yesterday afternoon back to his MC. The nurse called me last night and said he was doing well. They are going to keep him in the day room during the day and check on him every 15 minutes at night. He is also going to receive more physical therapy. I don't know if he will ever walk again but he isn't in pain. I guess God wasn't ready for him yet. As for me, I am totally exhausted and am trying to rest and catch up on much needed sleep. Our daughter and youngest son have gone back home. Our oldest son will be here this weekend for a week. Middle son was here last week also. He may still go on hospice but for now we will wait and see how he does. If he goes on hospice, he can't have any physical therapy and I do want him to have that for a while.
