Anxiety, depression and tremors

My wife of 36yrs was diagnosed in 2024 with early stage Alzheimer's and is being treated with monthly infused Kisunla to reduce the amyloids on her brain. My health since then has worsened and I am challenged spiritually by faith. Unfortunately I took life for granted by putting somethings off until later. She's 64 and I am 60 yrs old and it's a difficult and stressful situation and hard to accept. We have adult children that need our help during these hard economic times when Americans are hurting. I have found false advertisements online that claim to reverse Alzheimer's while using celebrities in their AI generated videos. I don't know what to do or when to do it. I hate to see her in this condition and wonder why her? I answer her questions each time regardless of repeats.

My wife’s diagnosis wasn’t really a surprise since we pretty much knew, but as things progressed it was clear that our lives had taken a much different path than either of us wanted or expected. As hard as things can be for me though, I try to remember that they’re a 1000 times worse for her. Like yours it seems, she has anxiety (due to deep seated fear/terror), depression (since realistically there is no hope), and tremors and other physical aspects like REM sleep disorder.

Since you have a neurologist (or some physician who’s prescribed Kisunla), can they refer you to resources you may need as a relatively new caregiver? A social worker and occupational therapist would seem like a good start. Other resources may be available, and I’ve found some are on a sliding scale according to ability to pay. Also neighbors or folks in a congregation or community who can come by, help with cooking, etc?

You’ve made a fantastic step by posting on this forum, too. There are spouses and some men who can lend our ears and experience - many with a lot more experience than me. I’m glad to meet you, and sorry you need to be here.
