New to Memory Care
We just put my dad in Memory Care yesterday. He was sad but cooperative, understanding that my mom needs surgery and is no longer able to care for him. So we thought things went pretty well. Then at about 10pm last night, he had a psychotic episode - was verbally abusive and physically violent. He has been verbally abusive in the past with my mom with the Alzheimer's diagnosis, but it is always short-lived. He had never shown physical aggression until last night, and it ended up in paramedics being called and a trip to the hospital. He's back in his facility now, and I know they have contacted docs to see about tweaking his meds a little bit, but I am fearful this will happen again tonight. Anyone else have experience with this?

Hi Mystic, welcome to the board! It's common for people to have symptoms in the evening, and it's common for symptoms to worsen temporarily when there is a stressor, such as moving and having different people around. It sounds like they're doing all the right things to manage the symptoms as he begins to settle in.
