Fast forward to today, my Grandma was in the hospital due to an UTI infection, and while I was there, the doctor mentioned her vascular dementia diagnosis and said he…

My DH was diagnosed last year with MCI. For a few months now I noticed changes. He has memory loss, blames anything or anyone for anything . His temper is off, discussions or conversations are impossible at times, becomes argumentative. I am so sad and fearful that I can not handle this. I cry at night .

Early Onset Alzheimer's at 49
Hello, I was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's in October at the age of 49. I've had the the test and it does show I have one variance of the APOE/4 gene and the only kind of Alzheimer's we have my family is on my mom's side and they were diagnosed in their middle to late '70s. This is just been a shock I knew…

Early onset support group in Illinois
My spouse has early onset Alzheimer's . We live in Elgin Illinois and I was wondering if there are any support groups that meet maybe weekly in the Northern Illinois area. I wonder if I am seeing things not there
My wonderful husband of 49 years was diagnosed 2 years ago with MCI, he is slipping more (forgetting conversations that just occurred, throwing out items we need, personality changes, etc.) and I anticipate at our appointment with his neurologist later this month, he will "upgrade" his diagnosis. All of this being said, my…

Using Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) to slow AD progression
Has anyone used TMS for AD? I know it is off label, and that it is a cash expense not covered by insurance, but I am looking for a provider in the Northeast (CT/MA/NY/ NH) who could treat my wife. The studies have been small, but reasonably positive in being able to slow progression.

Compassionate Use or Expanded Access options
Is anyone getting any therapies through Compassionate Use or Expanded Access programs? I saw a comment from someone in a Facebook group who was considering TB006 a compound being developed by True Binding. So it made me wonder if anyone here has considered it or other experimental options that are in development.

I'm 45 and just got the news
I just tested positive for moderate to frequent corticol amyloid deposition. I don't even know how to feel right now. I went to my doctor for cognitive decline and memory problems, and the pet scan showed this. My doctor didn't tell me very much, so I've been researching online, and i can't stop crying. This was my biggest…

But what if it's something that could be treated?
My mother has always been afraid of ALZ because as her own mother aged, as soon as she became moody and forgetful, her sisters insisted this was ALZ and sent her to live in a gross, smelly facility (my mother's words, but not untrue). Now as she is in her mid-80s, my mother is showing signs of memory loss and potentially…

Hi! Anyone out there on Leqembi and have Medicare? My wife is on Leqembi and just turned 65 and signed up for original Part A and B Medicare. We’re wondering how much Medicare pays for Leqembi? And how much is left over for the patient to pay? The first few infusions were given when she was still on my BCBS insurance. So…

When to move?
My husband was diagnosed with MCI a year ago and is declining. We had planned to downsize, but now I'm wondering if that would be too disorienting for him. He already carries a lot of anxiety before this diagnosis, and I worry that a move will accelerate his condition. On the other hand, it really is time to get out of…
