My prayers are with you and your family. I noticed several people have stated this period of time is amazing. I have to agree. When my BIL was in this stage the hospice nurse kept telling us everyday he would not last through the night. He had not spoken or opened his eyes for a few days. My SIL and several others and myself were sitting around together in his room, he loved the old gospel songs. We just started singing, it was as if we were supposed to be singing. He opened his eyes, and my SIL reached over and kissed him and told him he could go if he was ready. He had the biggest smile on his face and said thank you, I love you. And then he was gone. We knew he was with our Heavenly Father! It was amazing. Yes it was sad but oh so amazing. It was as if for a few moments you could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit.
Peace be with you and yours.

She passed away with me by her side at 1:18 am. It was my shift. About that time our priest who has retired to his home country of India sent me a picture of some flowers. I knew he was thinking of us and praying for us. It was so comforting.
I’m thankful for all of you. Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers.

I’m so sorry for your loss, FW. I hope knowing she is in a better place, free of pain, sickness, and the shackles of dementia is a comfort for you (as it was when I lost my parents and MIL), but the void they leave in our lives is so hard. Thoughts and prayers with all of you.0
