GOOD FRIDAY * EASTER * WE REJOICE!

 

Isaiah 53:5-6

Amplified Bible

But He was wounded for our transgressions,

He was crushed for our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing];

The punishment [required] for our well-being fell on Him,

And by His stripes (wounds) we are healed.

All of us like sheep have gone astray,

We have turned, each one, to his own way;

But the Lord has caused the wickedness of us all [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing]

To fall on Him [instead of us].

John 10:14-15

14 I am the Good Shepherd, and I know [without any doubt those who are] My own and My own know Me [and have a deep, personal relationship with Me]— 15 even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father—and I lay down My [very own] life [sacrificing it] for the benefit of the sheep.

 

John 4:13-14

Amplified Bible

13 Jesus answered her, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again. 14 But whoever drinks the water that I give him will never be thirsty again. But the water that I give him will become in him a spring of water [satisfying his thirst for God] welling up [continually flowing, bubbling within him] to eternal life.”

 

Me: This Easter, Christians all over the world will once again remember Jesus suffered and died for our sins. Three days later, we worship and praise Him as our Risen Savior. His disciples saw Him, and all but one of them died defending their faith in Him. We rejoice His Holy Spirit now lives in us, and we can have a personal relationship with Him each day. Because of Jesus there a joy in our hearts the world cannot overcome.
