Please accept my sympathy.
Just because we know the ending of the final chapter does little to help. I found myself devastated and relieved at the same time. What an odd combination.
Family and close friends surrounded me for days which did help but then there were weeks of treading water before I could swim even a little.
Please allow yourself to grieve you own way. Do not listen to the "you need to"....your way it best.
There are many of us here in stage eight still helping each other while trying to be helpful to those still on the journey. I hope you will join us.

Lgw I’m sorry for your loss but you and your husband have been on a long hard journey. He is in the arms of Jesus now and no more pain for him. Now it’s time for you to rest and take care of yourself in your own way. That’s what he would want for you. Peace and comfort for you. That’s my prayer.

Deepest condolences to you Lgw, on your DH’s passing. You have gone the distance and then some as a devoted caregiver. His long suffering is over. I hope you find peace and comfort in the challenging days and weeks and months ahead.

Your kind words of encouragement have helped so much. I had to fill our paperwork and had to fill out single for the first time in almost 45 years. I have held it together while my daughter has been by my side but she is at the store so I let it go again. The dog looked at me like "what can I do to help". I dread the funeral tomorrow but I will be glad to get it done and behind me. Yes I will continue to check on this site to see if I can encourage others in this long ugly battle. This site has helped me so much and had insight that many times doctors and even Hospice couldn't help me with. Now if they will just get here to haul off his equipment.
