Geriatric Physician Recommendations in Florissant or West County St. Louis

My mom and dad have had the same doctor for 20 years. My mom is having trouble caring for my dad who is showing signs of dementia. Their doctor yeais dismissive of my mom's concerns, and even suggested we just drop my dad off at the ER if he becomes too much for her to handle. Is there a doctor that anyone in this group recommends for them in Florissant, MO or West County St. Louis?

    Hi Sonya - Welcome to 'here', but sorry for the reason.

    I am not familiar with your area - but do look up recommended neurologists. It seems to me, from what I've read, plus our own experiences, that some doctors really don't know what to do. Sad that he will not at least give a referral. And just a thought - if dad is not willing to go to someone else, you could try telling him that it is for a medicare review for insurance.

    Perhaps the ALZ hotline on this site. 24 hour access to licensed Care Coordinators who may be able to assist with resources and/or direction..
