Mother's Day was hard

Celebrating any holiday, birthday, or significant life event has become so hard since DW has been diagnosed with VD, psychosis, and AFIB. It's hard to see her living in a reality that seems to torture her with fear, anger, and sadness brought on by memory struggles and delusions. I feel so powerless to help and because in her reality I'm the villain of her story, I cannot comfort her or reassure her that she is safe and loved. I feel like this disease is holding my whole family hostage. It blocks me at every turn as I try to help the woman I have loved for over 30 years.

I couldn't tell my husband that it was Mother's Day because I was afraid that he would want to go see his mother (deceased). Good thing all of the mentions of Mother's Day on the TV didn't register with him!

Oh M1, I’m so sorry. Both my daughters lost their second babies in the first trimester. It’s so hard. I’ll be praying for you all, especially the parents.

I took flowers to my wife in memory care. She held them for a few minutes then let them drop to the floor. I think she didn't even know what they were.
