good options for in home care

My mom is in the advanced stages of vascular dementia and needs full time care. My sister was living with her as her daily care giver but she is now in the hospital with cancer. I’m staying with mom now but need help caring for her so I have time to work and take care of my own home. Facilities are too expensive and she doesn’t have insurance to cover that and has a limited income. I’m looking for in home care from an agency that has good reviews near Summerville SC. Does anyone have an agency or resource that they would recommend? I don’t always trust or believe reviews found online. Any information is appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. Home care will also be expensive, as it is not covered by Medicare. . Have you inquired about getting her qualified for Medicaid? A certified elder law attorney can help. Look at nelf.org.

In home care isn’t covered by Medicare but it is usually covered in one way or another by Medicaid if you meet their eligibility requirements. There is some helpful information here: https://www.medicaidplanningassistance.org/in-home-care/

That's an excellent resource Maggie, if it's not already in the Information for new members it should be included-maybe someone facile with links could add it. Thanks for posting-
