oh M1 , I'm sorry for your loss but am grateful you have perspective already to reflect on the love that is in your heart and mind for the great life you two shared.
I'll never forget that early photo you posted of her at a Museum trip - it was such a lovely way to show even in the mire of dementia we should look for the beauty in life.
Thank you for your wise words and advise on these boards , you helped so many people you'll never meet in their dark days.

Sadness and relief are odd bedfellows but something so many here express. You eloquently addressed both. We all feel your grief and I pray relief is always it's companion as you begin stage 8.

Oh, M1! I am so very sorry for the loss of your dear partner! But I am glad, for her, that her suffering is over, and that you seem to feel that way, too. Hold tight to the good memories. I have found, one month after my DH left us, that they have a surprisingly stronger force than the bad ones. May you both, in time, be at peace.

I am so happy that you can finally bring her home so that she may rest in peace and comfort. I think of the line from Josh Groban's "You're Still You" song - "I will remember you and what life put you through". May peace be with you.

I am so very sorry, M1. I know you knew she was nearing the end, but that doesn't make it any easier. You were so wonderful with her even in the most difficult of times.
I'm glad that you'll be able to bring her back home to the farm that you both love.
Please take care of yourself in the upcoming months, and take some of that well-deserved traveler's rest that we on this board often talk about.

Like you M1, I am bringing my LO home where we lived and where he took his last breath almost two weeks ago. I hope it's comforting for you to know that she passed peacefully and is now resting in peace xo

She's in a good place now. May you find your peace and solace in the days ahead, and live fully again. Hugs…

I am so very sorry M1. You were a tireless advocate and pillar of support for your lovely wife. You made sure her passing was a gentle one. I'm sure the coming months will be challenging at times as you get used to being released from the caregiver role. I hope you're still able to share your thoughts here, but mostly I hope that you'll be able to re-engage in a day-to-day life that brings you contentment, and that you take some time for yourself.
