Didn't post much, and now it's over

One year ago we learned my husband had dementia. As the year went on, Parkinsons became another issue. Last month, he was in heart failure. And today the love of my.life, my best buddy, and dearest friend died.

To all of you on this journey, you will stay in my heart. I have no words of wisdom. This is a horrible disease for the PWD and their caregivers.

I am so sorry to learn of your loss. It is so hard to watch them fade away, especially when there are multiple comorbidities. Your love for each other is evident in your beautiful profile picture. (Hugs)

I’m sorry for your loss. So much packed into such a short amount of time. You probably hadn’t come to acceptance of the dementia before all these other illnesses landed too.

I am very sorry, @northernlady . You hardly had time to register his diagnosis, and now you must deal with his loss. I am wishing you strength to get through it, and peace on the other side.

Heartbreaking news Northern Lady, I’m so sorry for your loss! One year is hardly enough time to process all you both have gone through, and now you are here with this profound loss. Please stay in touch with us if you’re so inclined, and let us know how you’re doing. Hugs!

Dio, I recognize that in 13 months we went from 0 - 60, and then ended. I know most people's journey is not as direct and is drawn out. I wish peace for all of you.

    Thank-you for your kind words.

    Northern lady,

Deepest Condolences to you. Cherish the memories and try to take gentle care of your self both physically and emotionally. Your last year has brought much sorrow and you have not has time to adjust to the various stages of dementia much less the Parkinson's and heart problems. In a way this is a blessing as you and your DH didn't have to suffer through many many years of those devastating illneses. Gentle ( HUGS ) to you.

I read this quote this morning … “How very much You love me God! … When I think of that love, I feel a sudden surge of courage to face the future. Even death becomes merely the beautiful moment when the One who loves and the one who is loved meet face-to-face.”

You are in my prayers! God bless you through this difficult time!
