Didn't post much, and now it's over
One year ago we learned my husband had dementia. As the year went on, Parkinsons became another issue. Last month, he was in heart failure. And today the love of my.life, my best buddy, and dearest friend died.
To all of you on this journey, you will stay in my heart. I have no words of wisdom. This is a horrible disease for the PWD and their caregivers.

I am so sorry to learn of your loss. It is so hard to watch them fade away, especially when there are multiple comorbidities. Your love for each other is evident in your beautiful profile picture. (Hugs)

My condolences to you. But at the same time, believe it or not, you're among the lucky few who don't have to continue this wicked journey with no end in sight. It was merciful, for death came for him quickly so that you won't have to face the horrors of this disease as it continues its assault. May you be comforted in knowing this as you grieve. When the grieving subsides, you'll be able to see the sunrise in a new light.

I’m sorry for your loss. So much packed into such a short amount of time. You probably hadn’t come to acceptance of the dementia before all these other illnesses landed too.

Dio, I recognize that in 13 months we went from 0 - 60, and then ended. I know most people's journey is not as direct and is drawn out. I wish peace for all of you.
Thank-you for your kind words.

Northern lady,
Deepest Condolences to you. Cherish the memories and try to take gentle care of your self both physically and emotionally. Your last year has brought much sorrow and you have not has time to adjust to the various stages of dementia much less the Parkinson's and heart problems. In a way this is a blessing as you and your DH didn't have to suffer through many many years of those devastating illneses. Gentle ( HUGS ) to you.

I read this quote this morning … “How very much You love me God! … When I think of that love, I feel a sudden surge of courage to face the future. Even death becomes merely the beautiful moment when the One who loves and the one who is loved meet face-to-face.”
You are in my prayers! God bless you through this difficult time!
