Dear fmb,

Your post started a floodgates of tears and emotions. I can only imagine the pain of the final goodbye, even knowing he is no longer suffering and he is in a much better place. It must be so hard to finally face this. I'm sending a great big hug abd know people here care.

I feel your pain and my sincerest condolences. I too went through the loss of my DW of 30 years this past month. Like you, I was grateful to be there at the end. Praying your heart heals, no doubt you did a great job caring for him, bless you.

fmb - my heart goes out to you. What a precious send off to finally be free from this nightmare. You granted safe passage and were able to be there at his side, at such a sacred time. I can only hope for the same. Wishing you peace, in time. I am sorry for all that you both went through with this disease, and glad that you are both free.

I’m so sorry all this happened. Alzheimer’s took good years away. You were a comfort to him at every step and I’m sure he was incredibly grateful. Rest now and take the time to heal and reflect.
