Experience with Rallies or burst of energy prior to death

Hello! My mother was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's 15 years ago and to say the least its been a long road! She lost the ability to walk and eat on her own about 2 years ago and has been very steadily declining since then. Last week she got very bad and was bed ridden and unconscious for a full day with fluid in her lungs and wasn't eating or drinking without choking. Hospice came and predicted that she may have 24-72 hours left. However, the next day she was better and started eating and drinking again. It has now been a week and she is back in her wheel chair and still eating a drinking. She has been nonverbal for 2 years and is obviously suffering as she randomly cries and moans a lot. As much as I dont want her to be gone, we are all ready for her to be out of this pain. Does anyone have any experience with rallies like this and has any idea how long they typically last? We are just wanting to get some idea of what to expect moving forward. Thank you all in advance!
