End-of-Life care and Hospice
Hi everyone, I’m Jayla 🤍
I’m a mama to 5—2 of my own and 3 bonus babies—and I’m new here.
I’ve worked in home health and end-of-life care for the last 12 years, and I’m currently pursuing nursing school. Even with all that experience, nothing fully prepares you for doing this for someone you love.
I don’t share my story for sympathy.
I share it because this season has changed me.
I’m caregiving through Alzheimer’s, dementia, and now end-of-life care. And there is nothing easy about it. It’s exhausting in ways sleep doesn’t fix. It’s watching someone you love slowly fade while still needing you completely. It’s holding grief and responsibility at the same time—and still showing up.
Some days are heavy. Some days are sacred.
Most days are both.
This is the hardest thing I’ve ever done…
and the most love I’ve ever given.
If you’re walking a similar road—quietly, faithfully, and tired to your bones—you’re not weak. You’re brave. And you’re not alone. 🤍

"It’s watching someone you love slowly fade while still needing you completely." That is such a true statement. Thank you for posting.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We’re newcomers to this nightmare of a journey and I needed to read this.
