GG, sorry for the loss of your sister. We never get over that loss. I lost my sister a few years ago. She was in AL, fell and broke her ankle and.never recovered. She alSo had alzheimers.

Lots of tornados, NW of us around Tulsa and.back down the turnpike to OKC. Our weather men and women have been on since.before,5. At least five storm trackers are out in the storms. Guess this is springtime in Okla.

I have had dirt pudding, served in a flower pot with a little toy shovel for a scoop. It was really good. Bread can be baked in a flower pot, too. It spreads out at the top of the pot for a muffin effect.

The storms aren't here yet. Radar shows rain in Joplin (70 miles west on I-44) and storms in east Kansas, heading straight for us.

Now the storms are forming and increasing south of us. I'm tired of this! Still tornado warnings in far NE Okla.. going into Arkansas and Missouri. Some one from our little town sent in a picture of a golf ball sized hailstone. Two people have been killed in Beggs, NW of here along with lots of damage.

Thanks, Lorita. The storms are still north and west of us but forming up for a rough night in an hour or two. Ron, I hope you're not in that trailer! The wind will toss that around like a toy.

I'm going to lie down for a while, but I'm ready to get into my storm shelter. TTYL

The storm lines have passed to the east and we're under flash flood warnings, but no strong winds or hail. Looks like I've survived another one.

    Good morning,

Nothing woke me up, so I guess the storm wasn’t that bad.
I’m reminded in Louisiana Lou use to wake me up and tell me we were under a tornado warning. I would tell her leave me alone and let me sleep, if she sees a tornado then she can wake me up.

I do remember working at the Shreveport airport I saw a tornado pass right over us but it was several miles northeast of the airport before it touched down.

    Morning.

We had high winds and some rain over night. The temp at 6:00 was 69 until the front blew threw. It now 47 with high north winds. Lots of rain predicted today. Crazy weather.

Yesterday I decorated the dining room tree for St Patrick's Day. I wasn't going to, but DH enjoys it so much. Over the next several days I hope to change out the living room tree to Spring. If its raining outside I might as well be doing the tree inside!

Back later. Let's be safe everyone.

Slept through what ever happened last night. No torado warnings. Looks like fine weather next week. It may be time to apply the 10-10-10 fertilizer

    Good morning.

GG and Lorita, anniversary days can be bittersweet.

Beth, your flowers are lovely! I always heard of jack in the pulpit, but I never saw a photo. It's realistic.

Do you in the tornado areas have sirens to warn you? I hope that's the end of the tornados. We are having high winds right now but no tornados.

Iris…we get warnings starting with "watch" on TV, phones and then sirens. All sirens go. off at noon also.

I'm glad all of you are okay, and that the storms have passed you by. I hope it continues to be that way.

Ron - your attitude toward tornadoes is kind of like my attitude toward earthquakes. For me if it's 5.4 or less, I'm not going to bat an eye. 5.5 will get my attention, but that's about it. That said, I have my Go Bag always ready and I rotate the water and stuff out of it periodically.

Carl - my mom used to make dirt cake, which is pretty much exactly as you describe. The kids in our family loved it. In fact, now that my mom is gone, one of my cousins has taken over making dirt cake (for holidays), and the kids, who are now adults, still love it. 🙂

Thank you guys about Peggy, I appreciate it. I talked to Peggy's close friends M & D yesterday, so that was good. We talked about the good times, and almost nothing of the bad. Like you said, Iris, bittersweet, indeed. I am so glad she had them as friends.

Lorita - I'm sorry about your sister. I don't think I knew that.

Today we have overcast weather, but no rain. Good thing because beginning tomorrow we're going to have rain every day for the next nine days. 😄. The camellias have gone crazy! It seems like all of the buds just popped all at †he same time. So many pink flowers.

No sirens out here, Iris, just tv meteorologists and phone. Four people were killed yesterday and much damage. It was all west of here about 30: miles and up toward the NE. Eight tornados and winds 90-100 mph last night. More severe weather predicted for Tuesday. Our tv weather was on from -5 to midnight. Springtime in Oklahoma is beautiful but volatile at times.

Happy DST for those who observe. Or as my late Indiana born and bred MIL called it "fast time". SMH.

Judith— Now that Wise snacks are available in my area again, I'm on the hunt for Cheez Waffies which are my DH's junk-of-choice. They're not being made yet. Grrr.

Lorita— I find sometimes cats who bite do so because they've reached their limit of human interaction or sometimes they're playing. My last cat used to bite DH because he never taught that cat not to when they played. The cat never bit DS or me because we stopped interacting when the cat started to bite.

I hear you on the pictures of Sarah. My phone made up a slide show of pictures of my dad from the month before he died that were really hard to look at. On one hand I don't want to erase them, but on the other I don't want to look at them either.

Carl— I just now finished switching my range and microwave clocks. Evidently, neither DS nor DH can do this reliably.

I hope all in the path of dangerous weather are OK and stay that way. It's just been damp here which is not conducive to happy joints. We should have some sun Monday and Tuesday and temps in the 70s which is nuts for this time of year.

Beth— A couple of my aunts always included some trillium in their gardens. They're a special plant. I hope the dirt cake was a hit. DH is a little grossed out by it; he's horrified by the cat-box version as well.

Eaglemom— My mom's doing her tree up for spring/Easter as we speak. St. Patrick's Day is not her thing. LOL, DH went out to pick up Guiness yesterday and got the last case in the store. Evidently it's popular this time of year. DH drinks it year-round.

    ______________________________________________________________

I'm still puttering around— doing my PT homework, reading and taking it easy. Yesterday, DH and I ran some errands picking up a prescription for him and a small order of groceries. I got home, laid down with my leg elevated and passed out for 2 hours.

I'm mostly off pain meds because we figured out that the stomach upset making me so miserable was a side effect of the Tylenol through the process of elimination. I'd already jettisoned the NSAID and big gun meds. Go figure.

I hope all stay safe out there.

Sunny morning and fairly warm. Supposed to be 70. Be careful HB to not over work that new knee.

Sammy runs in front of me and lays down to play, always when I'm in a hurry.. What bothers me is his growling at Stormy and jumping at him.

Have reset two clocks and one to go. I never.bother with the microwave and have been known to not reset any of them.

    Enjoy the pretty weather.

    @Lorita

Sunday Gravy is a meat-centric classic Italian sauce slow simmered for hours and served with pasta.

My grandfather added meatballs, sausage, pork chops and or chicken thighs to his. My NIL does a fabulous short ribs version.

Judith, you don't have any clocks or they are all automatically changed?

I took my two cats to the pet hotel today. I will be leaving for Mexico day after tomorrow. Not too far, down to Baja. I'm going whale watching.

    Good night.

I have 13 clocks to change, plus my watch! That includes 2 microwaves, stove, cars, etc. I like to do most of them the evening before.

Iris, have fun! We have seen whales in Alaska and in Hawaii (they commute, based upon the weather).

We are headed to TX today to see our daughter and family.

I hope you all have a good week.

    Beth
