Thanks, HB, I will ask him. The aggression is inermittent- no reason I can see. He can be as sweet as can be and in ten minutes he can be.hissing and swatting at us. He jus crawled up in my lap..

Got some bad news today about my BIL.. He will be 96 in June. He has fallen three times lately hitting his head in e same place causing two brain bleeds. Doctor says he is in early stages IV of dementia, too. Luckily he had two daughters within five minutes of him.

Watching Doc Martin. Have fun, Iris. What is the weather like? When do you come Home?

    Good night.

We went to NASA/Johnson Space Center in Houston today. It is so interesting. I took this picture of a picture of back when we sent men to the moon. There are plans for more trips to the moon and even to Mars.

We go home tomorrow. We didn't do much touristy stuff; we're here to visit family. We have been here many times before so have seen quite a few things.

Thanks for these pictures iris, I love how thorough the trip is you are hitting many great spots I imagine the deeper into Mexico you go the more authentic it will feel while still be a safe way to travel there.

So here's a weird thing … I've only seen three or four posts here. I haven't seen any of Iris' photos (until now), so I'm not sure what's up. Hopefully I'm seeing all the posts now, but I'm really not sure ….

Ron - I hope your stress test went okay. Apologies if you posted about it - I haven't seen it.

Carl - If I ever end up in a state that has a Braum's, I'm going to it. I'll have all chocolate ice cream. 🙂 And about walnuts … you know, I don't really eat any kind of walnuts now. I picked walnuts one summer (high school age) with a friend, and that pretty much cured me of walnuts. And I even like them! I just can't face them.

Lorita - Yikes about Darwin. He really does need to wear something for when he falls.

I'm sorry about your BIL too. I'm glad his daughters are nearby.

I forgot about the fracking. That will definitely cause earthquakes.

Iris - I'm loving all of your photos! The scallops and sea snails dish looks really good, although I'm not sure I could manage the sea snails. What were they like?

I love your arrangement of shells and sand dollars on the beach too.

Beth - I'd love to go to the Space Center. Space stuff has always interested me.

Over on the very cold side of the porch - it's very cold! It really feels like it wants to snow and it wouldn't surprise me if it did.

I've been running errands and doing a lot of pick up around the house. At least I feel like I'm making progress.

Beth, the time of the moon trip was so exciting! Have a safe trip home. Are you driving?

Lorita, I hope the daughters will be able to take of their dad.

The weather in Baja is chilly in the morning when there is fog, but gets hot once the sun is out. Now that the sun has gone down, it is chilly again and I'm wearing my jacket.

The food has been great. I'm eating a lot of fish.

Right now we are in the middle of Baja. Here are some pictures of the succulents in the desert.

    1000003250.jpg 1000003255.jpg

This plant was used as a medicinal plant by the indigenous residents.

    1000003261.jpg 1000003256.jpg

This is the jojoba plant. Jojoba oil has replaced whale oil, thus saving the whales from being hunted to near extinction. Whales are protected in all countries except Russia, Japan and Norway. I saw canned whale meat when I was in Norway, I was so disappointed.

I don't know the names of the other plants.

    Tomorrow is whale-watching day!

We're heading home today. We are flying. To drive would require an overnight hotel (15 plus hours). We have done it in the past. Back to the cold ❄️ and chance of snow Sunday. Iowa's weather has been up and down here the past few weeks - some very nice days in the 60s and 70s, and some very cold days. I'm ready for spring!

    Good afternoon,

I’ve been trying to get more information from my test, without any luck. Yesterday I received a call with results of the echocardiogram which was good, all problems were only mild. They didn’t mention the chemical induced stress test. I thought about it later and tried to call with a wait of 30 minutes I hung up. Called back this morning and was put on hold while they checked and finally was told no results yet. They sent a note to my cardiologist and told me it would probably be 24 to 48 hours before hearing back.
Beth, thank you for the pictures, I enjoyed sitting on our front porch looking at them.

Zetta, thanks for thinking about me. I'm okay. We went to the mailbox and drove up the road to cut little cedar branches to put under the car and pickup hoods then to check on something in the pasture I could see from the house. I found a place where the bank up to the fence wasn't too high so got up to the fence but still couldn't see it. I slipped on the way down and fell in the ditch. Glad a car didn't come by and catch me sitting in the ditch. Guess I kind of twisted my back so it is a bit sore. I had on Dawgs so that's why I slipped- wasn't a deep ditch , thank goodness.

Iris, I agree about the whale meat. Hope you can see some whales tomorrow.

The new baby is really cute. Mom .had.him staked out in the sun this afternoon - should be quite a.few more soon.

Ron hope you get the stress test results soon. I hate to wait for test results.

Good trip home, Beth. I saw where Iowa may have a blizzard Sunday.

    See you all tomorrow.

Lorita, do you have your alert button on when you go out?

My roommate on this trip is 95 years of age, yes 95! I asked her the secret of her longevity and she said, "drinking!"

I petted a whale today! There were so many with calves and they came right up to the boat. Here is one picture, more tomorrow.

Perhaps our dear Lorita will start using her medical alert….hint, hint.

Ron…with health problems I would definitely not build a cabin. I would want to be where people are and near my hospital . Tha said a medical alert would go a long way. I use Bay Medical.

Oh Iris…touching a whale…a dream come true. What a wonderful trip you have had. All of your fjourneys have been educational for me. Thank you.

    Is there a Darwin report?

News of the day here…there is a rat in my bathroom!!! Hopefully some steel wool and traps will work but I will add some peppermint oil.

Afternoon , it wasn't a deep ditch and I just sort of sat down a bit hard. Ron, I use Medical Guardian and it has fall detection which works. If you get the AARP Bulletin, here is an ad for it.. I have fallen in the snow and I was asked if I needed help.

Judith, I need to make a concerted effort to wear it. I should put it on when I get up. I did talk with one of Darwin's daughter about getting one for him.

I talked to him this morning and he was wobbly as he says. His SIL is building fences on their ranch and he cut corner posts from a telephone pole for him yesterday. He doesn't stop when he starts something so over does it. He will just lay down for a couple of minutes, then gets up and goes on. He did that when he was helping bury Sheena. Scarea me when he does that.

Judith, have you seen the rat? So far cedar branches and moth balls are working on the car and PU.

Iris, I can only imagine what a thrill it would be to touch a whale! Are they calving where you are?

Doing laundry today, almost finished. Hardest part is remaking the bed and putting on pillow slips. Dryer just stopped so better go check,

At ER in Springfield was just told by the Dr that he wanted my pulmonologist to review my chart. I looked in patient portal and the standard cray said pneumonia. They have done a ct scan with chemical a few minutes ago.

Exterminator was here…sticky traps, cement powder mixed with rice ( 2 parts cement-1 part rice) and peppermint oil. No moth balls or cedar boughs suggested.

Yes pneumonia was the diagnosis! Was given antibiotics through iv and suppose to pick some up tomorrow at pharmacy, rest and drink plenty of water. Weird I mainly went there for high BP, HR and coughing a little blood and they find out I have pneumonia. No telling how long I’ve had it as bad as I’ve been feeling.

    Good morning,

Tired and disappointed in how my move to Missouri has turned out so far. Hoping for better days! Still didn’t sleep much, up every 1 1/2 to 2 hours all night needing to pee and still coughing up blood.

Everyone in the path of storms today, praying you stay safe.

Sending prayers and positive energy to you Ron. Hoping you feel better very soon!

Lorita, I want to ask you to PLEASE put your fall alert pendant on your nightstand in plain sight AND put it on first thing every morning. Will you please promise all of us to do that??

    Iris, your trip looks amazing.

HB, hope BK (baby knee) and Mom are doing well.

    Baby Goats coming soon.

82 degrees here today with storms coming through tonight and snow flurries Monday.

Looks like I may be having a 15 year old Granddaughter come stay for the summer. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a teenager in the house.

Church today. Birthday and Graduation dinner tonight for 3 Great Grandchildren. One is turning 16, one graduating high school and one graduating college from the University of Alabama. Proud, busy and blessed 🙏

Everyone stay safe and have a wonderful day ❤️

Afternoon. I have it on now. Going to try my best to put it on when I get up and wear shoes that won't slide around on my foot. Thank you all for caring..

It was a pretty morning, warm with south wind. The guys fed, then the girls headed for the barn. It wasn't long until the wind switched to the north and is blowing like crazy. Supposed to have 55 mph gusts. They knew what was a-comin'. Mike says they are going to move them across the road to the section east of us to graze it out so the crab grass will grow to bale. Then they wiil be back here to graze this summer.I miss them when they are gone.

Jerry, BIL, called this morning and he sounded really good, much better than last week. Even said he has been riding his stationary bike and was a.bit sore.

Darwin worked on his mower yesterday and worked on it too long so said he was going to stay in bed all day--he won't.

Judith, use your grabber,if you have one, to get the rat out if it gets stuck or dies. Remember I got five snakes, two grown and big and three babies, out of my house a Couple of years ago. I think everyone needs a grabber..

    Ron, hope you feel.better soon.

Mint, are you doing okay? Are you planning on what you will plant this spring?

JeriLynn, sounds like you are busy, as usual. How many baby goats do you expect?

I need to do some paperwork so will.back later..

no visible mouse action after the kitchen visit. None on the sticky trays. I think the peppermint oil is to be commended.

Ron…I ended up in the hospital 3 months after Dick died. It is not at all uncommon for a caregiver to fall sick after a loved one dies. We underestimate the toll placed on us. Trailer living is perhaps not the best option for you right now.

Ron, I agree with Judith, it's a big letdown after month or years of caregiving. You're still in the throes of grief and on alert like you were. I still took care of cattle.but kept hitting my head and had a concussion a few months after losing Charles. Everyone urged me to get a helmet, still hit my head but no injuries.

Are you getting snow? My radar looks like it's up into SW Missouri.

JeriLynn, we have two tiny babies only a day or two old. Mike says they are everywhere in pastures.n

I would love to have a baby goat but too many coyotes. I hear them every night.

Wind is still howling and it's 20' degrees colder than yesterday.

Beth, are you having a blizzard?

Ron, I'll pray for your speedy recovery.

Lorita, I wear my fall alarm 24/7 except when showering and when it's on the charger. I'm used to it so it doesn't bother me at all. I don't get my money's worth if I don't wear it. Besides, I'm most likely to fall when I first get out of bed half asleep.

38 degrees and windy today, after 75 and sunny yesterday. Had a thunderstorm this afternoon, and there's some chance of snow when the sun sets. Getting all four seasons in one weekend.
