Sleeping in everything
He's wanting to wear his glasses and sneakers to bed. The glasses press into his skin and irritate it if he does keep them on in the night. He has very oily skin so it builds up under the glasses as well. The sneakers aren't bothering his skin right now but I do worry that they may contribute to pressure sores in the future. My goal is for him to be comfortable but it's hard to weigh his mental discomfort of having his glasses or shoes taken vs. physical discomfort that could be caused by him keeping them on the whole night. Any tips or ideas?

It may be just this phase and may pass soon enough.
Is there a spare pair of glasses that may be a little looser?
MIL sometimes won't take hers off, either, but after she is asleep, we can usually put them on the night table. Would that work for him?
As for the sneakers, if it isn't hurting anything, I wouldn't worry about it for now. Don't try to reason, the reasoner is broken, but maybe you could tell him it isn't good for his feet, and maybe try to change into slippers if he really wants something other than socks on them.
