When it finally happens that our LO has passed, there are so many mixed feelings as you describe. We know they would not want to live like that, but there is still a sense of loss, even though they have essentially already left us many years before. Along with that is a sense of relief and peace. I’m glad this forum helped you as it helped me. Sending prayers that you’ll find peace in the coming days and months as you move into Stage 8. So sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss and can only imagine the mixed feelings and grief.

Perhaps passing on your birthday was his birthday gift to you. That's how I would see it. I know my husband sometimes will talk about being a burden to me and how he doesn't want to do that to me. So perhaps knowing that part is over can be seen as a gift.

I wish you peace in your journey ahead and hope all the love and support around you helps you through.
