    When it finally happens that our LO has passed, there are so many mixed feelings as you describe. We know they would not want to live like that, but there is still a sense of loss, even though they have essentially already left us many years before. Along with that is a sense of relief and peace. I’m glad this forum helped you as it helped me. Sending prayers that you’ll find peace in the coming days and months as you move into Stage 8. So sorry for your loss.

    I'm so sorry for the loss of your dear husband, and I'm sorry it happened on your birthday. I'm glad though that the cavalry came through for you for the last 6 weeks.

    I'm so sorry for your loss and can only imagine the mixed feelings and grief.

    Perhaps passing on your birthday was his birthday gift to you. That's how I would see it. I know my husband sometimes will talk about being a burden to me and how he doesn't want to do that to me. So perhaps knowing that part is over can be seen as a gift.

    I wish you peace in your journey ahead and hope all the love and support around you helps you through.

    Dear @jsps139_ So very sorry for your great loss. And as @GothicGremlin wrote, glad to see the Calvary did come through for you at just the right time. I believe that too was a gift for you.

    May perpetual light shine upon your DH and may he rest in peace. I hope you too find peace in the days weeks and months ahead. I hope you will check in with us from time to time and let us know how you are doing.
