READING

Does anyone like reading books? Right now, I am reading a book by James Patterson. I also like Danile Steele. I especially like mysteries I just finished Jessica Fletcher's The Murder of Twelve. Can anyone recommend a good mystery?

David, I would expect you would like anything written by Robert B Parker, Tony Hillerman or Dick Francis. several others I don't recall at the moment.

    David,

I am a big fan of mysteries. Would sort of mysteries do you like? Police or private detective, amateur sleth, etc. I listen to a lot of audiobooks. Some are cozy mysteries, others are not like Michael Connelly. His Harry Bosch series is one of my favorites. I listen to a lot of British mysteries. I am currently working through Deborah Crombie's Duncan Kincaid series.

I love Robert Parker, James Patterson. Right now, I am reading Nora Roberts "YEAR ONE". Just read an Ellery Queen book It was 3 books in one I could not put the book down. I also read Murder She Wrote. And I like Danielle Steel.

I like all types of mysteries, but I have never tried an audiobook I don't have one particular author I just like to read. I have only gotten into reading since I was diagnosed last fall. My wife suggested for me to try it so I can keep my mind active and help, to slow down my Dementia.

I do not know about you, but I prefer the hard cover books over paperback books.

David, before my memory and attention problems I used to read novels all the time. The best mystery novel that I can remember was 'The Name of the Rose' by Umberto Eco. It's about murders in a 12th century monestary that houses a huge library of rare books. Was a great read as I remember. Hope this helps.😊

I like Nora Roberts and have listened to a number of her books. I am finding reading a bit more difficult than listening because of my language difficulties. It would be good if I read every day. I have a pile of books so it is not for a lack of books. Yes, I prefer hardcovers also now. I used to buy little paperbacks that fit in my purse to take with me but find the print too small in them now. I enjoy listening to the books while doing household chores like washing dishes. I can also listen to them while crocheting.

Maybe someday I will try audio books but not right now. I try to get books with large print. Ellery Queen is small print but it is well reading

I am with you on the audio books. I'm sure they are great and I've even given a few a listen(Angels and Demons by Dan Brown is one); but I like the feel of the pages, the ability to underline and write notes in the margins. I know it's old school and for all who have an iPad or reader- I'm glad you enjoy it. For now, I like the feel of the printed page and the 'large print' printed page is better for me as I push my way towards 70ish.

James, I have only started reading books since I was diagnosed last fall. But as the suggestion of my wife and 2 doctors I wish that I had started earlier in my life J can't believe how much I've been missing. I like hard copy more than paperbacks. My stepdaughter likes her Kindle, but I am also old school. I am pushing 80 so like you the bigger the print the better.

My reading list is "booked" 😄 through the end of the year, but I will make a note and add Pattersons Mid-Night Club. May be next year sometime before I get there as I have a long, long list of books to put my nose into. Keeps me busy all day and besides, I've always enjoyed reading. TY for the suggestion David😀

I don’t have a reading list. I don’t have a specific author i just look at the library at the senior center and if something catches my eye I will try it. But I truly like mysteries. As i said earlier I've only got into reading since I was diagnosed. I finally realized what I've been missing out on by not reading a lot earlier later in life

I read whenever I have an extra "minute" My wife and I are busy most days (mostly at the senior center)until about 2 p.m.. So I try to read for an hour after we come home. It has been talking to you James. Hope to hear from you again. David
