Thanks, CaroLynn, I kept meaning to do this yesterday and never got around to it. Chilly and c!oudy here this morning. I checked and WM will deliver something so had to go out and open the gate so they can come through and turn around without backing all the way to the road. Then. fixed my cereal and hot tea, got back in bed and am still there. Way too wet to do anything outside.

Zetfa, what Is the weather like in Arizona? Do you ever watch High Chapparel? I think it may be filmed around where you live.

Maybe we will hear from David today, hope so.

Ron, did you get some of the rain this morning? Our weather said our rivers are going down some.but the lakes are rising. I know ponds are really full Which my is good going Into summer.

Going to stop and have some more tea and maybe a little nap.

Lorita, let's see how it works out! Did it stop raining around you? I'm hoping for rain this weekend; my grass is turning brown. The timer on the sprinkler system stopped working and I have to start/stop it manually but I keep forgetting! Hopefully timer will be replaced next week. Where do the girls go when it rains? Do they have shelter where they are?

The air show is this weekend in Ft. Lauderdale; I don't go, hate dealing with crowds. I can hear them from my patio and they sometimes fly this far north to turn around so I get a fleeting look. So much controversy over the show this year; some think it's a waste of taxpayer money at a time when many services are being cut.

    Back later xo

Wish we could share some of our rain with you. Weather says we may get 3-5 more inches next week. Also wish our panhandle could get some of it. Duncan, south of OKC got 19" and Buffalo in the pan handle got about an inch. Somewhere in Okla.,can't remember where a rancher had to move his buffalo herd to higher ground. He said there were several babies and the moms had a hard tim coaxng the babies out of the woods and into the water. They made it okay. Many ranchers have had to move their stock to higher ground.

Our girls have no shelter where they are. If they were here they would be in the barn out of the rain with Billy. They're across the road from Dsrwin. He has a big equipment barn and he says they stay close to the fence, I guess wishing they could get in the barn. They're not used to being out in the falling weather all of the time.

Better finish my hot tea or put ice in it for iced tea ,-- either one works.

Sorry, Judith, forgot to add that post to 204. Thanks.

    Hello, friends.

We're getting a lot of rain here, hard rain this morning and more expected this afternoon. Lots of broken telephone poles and lots of trees down from that near-hurricane force wind we had the other day. My internet service has been out for days, so I'm posting this from the public library. I wouldn't order a pair of boots at a public computer, but since I'm not posting my name, address, credit card info, or shoe size I think it's OK.

I'm eating well and sleeping warm. The electricity goes out from time to time, but the generator works so no problem. DW is doing well at NH and has made a friend. They were eating lunch and chattering when I left. She would rather be with me and worries that someone might harm me, but I assured her no one is trying to hurt me and they couldn't anyway because I am old and tough. 😁

Thank you all for your woman's perspective on the lady who bought my lunch. I think she truly is a person who prays for people and buys their lunch. The prayer she recited was well rehearsed and a generic prayer that could be for anyone with any kind of trouble. I don't know if she even knew my wife is in NH.

Ron, I'm sorry you don't qualify for surgery. Doctors can do a lot for pain relief these days, I hope you get to feeling a lot better.

Carl, glad you posted I was wondering where you were. Guess you get the rain that goes through here. Glad you have the generator. Wish we had had ours a long time ago. We had an ice storm years ago, well several times, and it broke all the electric poles for several miles. So we were without power for a couple of weeks. Charles and a

I were living in an all electric MH so when we would geint so co!d we would come down to the house with mother and daddy to warm up and get a hot meal. They had propane heat. Gets hairy in the country sometimes.

Sweet that your wife worries about you- love never ends.Take care and hope your internet gets fixed soon.

Well, I'm back to getting that error message I posted about earlier, with an extra added bonus - all of my settings are gone + I can't see the previous posts to this thread. I can only see the current page. Not sure what that's about.

I'm going to follow JeriLynn's advice and contact the admins and see if they can help.

We'll see if this posts …..

ATT fixed the storm damage, so I'm back on the internet. I listened to the messages on my land line, checked my Email and paid a bill that was Emailed to me, and can even watch TV if I want. Back in the 21st century!

I know what you mean about the ice storms, Lorita. We had one in 2007 that left us without electricity for two weeks in the middle of town. The house was cold and my CPAP didn't work, and I was a wreck from sleep deprivation for weeks thereafter. My doctor told me not to do that again, so I ordered a generator when I built this house in 2008 - 2009. I haven't needed all that badly until this week, but I surely am enjoying it now. It isn't big enough to power the whole house, but it powers the furnace, stove, refrigerator, water heater, and lights and outlets in some of the rooms. I can wash and dry clothes some other time.

The first home I remember had electric lights, but water was from a hand-drawn well and cooking was done on a kerosene stove. Life can get hairy in the country, as you said. I remember the garage catching fire and the fire department wouldn't come because it was out of town and no lives were in danger. I'll never forget my father getting his car out of the garage to save it from the fire, and how concerned I was about his safety. My mother was occupied preventing me from going to help since I was about three years old. You just have to be more self-sufficient if you live in the country. Here, I can call Pizza Hut and say "I'm hungry" and they'll say "We'll be right there."

I need to run an errand before the rain returns. TTYL

Glad you're back o this century, Carl. Our generator.provides power to the storage building car port, entire house and barn if I can ever get the man out here to run the electric to the barn. I miss having lights out there if I need to go out at night and miss that third security light. Amazing how many times you try to turn on lights if power is out.

Just had the delivery from WM. She was driving a Chrysler 300. And said the roads are bad and she had to drive trough a quarter mile of water getting to our gate. Pizza Hut won't deliver out here so you are lucky. Got off the bed and fed Billy, GPs and cats (third time today). It is really pretty outside but wet and muddy.

They're selling overalls on QVC for $87 like they're something new. I have a pair, striped I think, in a box in the storage building. Surely didn't pay anything like that. Guess what's old is new again.

It is soggy here Lorita. The rain is just now letting up, it started last night. It's oddly cool also, 61. I can't believe it, I have on a lite sweater!!! I'm even making homemade beef noodle soup for our dinner. I know the coolness won't last long, I'm enjoying it before the temp hits a thousand out.

I had a call from a good friend who said "let's meet for lunch." I know a good deal when I hear one! Luckily our DH's can chat about 'stuff' and we can chat about just about anything and everything. We sat there almost 3 hours. We laughed until our stomachs hurt - that's such good medicine for the sole. I didn't even mind being out in the rain.

HB your comment about Alfred Dunner clothes absolutely made me laugh out loud. I can just see the shock and horror on your mother's eyes while you made that comment. Too funny and cute.

Time to feed the puppy. She's not a fan of wet paws. If that's her worst trait that's a good thing. Y'all be safe.

Lorita. It's been hot here, it's 91 right now, has been hot all week. I don't like talking about my weather, when most of you are dealing, with serious weather. I miss the Oregon, weather, not the snow but I miss the coolness and the rain. And no, I don't watch Hi Chappelle, it comes on just before Wagon Train, so I'm getting stuff done so I can watch Wagon Train. I will have to watch it sometime and see where it's filmed at. 🤠🙂 Hugs Zetta

    Ron, that looks just awful!

I had a nice experience this evening. Two neighbors came up to see if they could help me straighten the spruce tree. We decided it was too heavy for us and the equipment we had, but I am grateful for the offer. Then one of the neighbors brought me several pounds of smoked pork. He had smoked an 8-pound butt and said it was too much food for him and his wife. I have owned seven houses and rented a few, but I have never had better neighbors than I have here.

Eagle, nice you all had a good time with friends. It's been cool here today, too. Supposed to be in the forties in the morning. I like weather when it's cool enough to wear long sleeves. Soup sounds hood. I have some frozen so maybe tomorrow.

Zetta,we'll be in the nineties in a month or so.. Our summers are hot, humor and hazy. So hot you don't want to go outside. I bet you miss seeing the moose in your yard, too.

Ron, those pictures look like the ones I saw on our news. Just too much water. I think we're going to have a couple of days without rain, then more. Hope you are feeling neyter .

Carl, glad you have good neighbors. There aren't many neighbors out here. There's one at the SW corner of the farm and another a mile south, then Darwin a mile away.. Good neighbors are worth their weight in gold. Could you hook the tree to your car or pickup to straighten it. What a shame to lose it. I think I may try to dig up a taller elm while the ground is wet. The one I transplanted will take a long time to get tall.

The yard needs mowing but it's too wet. Darwin mowed his and guess he got too close to the ditch, not a deep one, and got stuck. His Mule is in the shop so he hooked a comealong to it and he and his wife got it out. I need to spray weeds in the lot but can't until it stops raining a few days.

Going to finish watching Gunsmoke before I.go to bed... Good night. Sleep tight.

JeriLynn - I'm glad it's not just me! I'll see what I can do about reporting (was out all day).

Ron - be careful out there! That flooding looks really scary (and dangerous)

Caro_Lynne - I hear you about air shows. In the Bay Area in CA, once a year the Blue Angels do their fly bys. They are incredibly loud, and every cat and dog in the vicinity is frightened out of their wits.

Carl - I'm glad you're back to the 21st century. It's always such a pain when the internet goes out. Coincidentally, that happened to us today too, for no rhyme or reason. It sounds like you have really amazing neighbors.

Lorita - you do what I do with tea. I'll drink it hot, but if it gets cool, I'll turn it into iced tea and drink it that way. I like tea hot or cold.

Zetta - we had sun today and it was warm-ish, about 70 degrees. 91 is a bit hot for me too, and I generally prefer hot weather.

As for me - my s.o. and I went to Costco. It's my first time being inside one of those stores since Burning Man. Burners are like preppers, only we're only getting stuff for 10 days (in the desert), rather than preparing for the worst. That store is so intimidating. But, we got what we went in for.

I'm sorry if I'm missing anyone, but I still can't see any posts except for those on the current page. Hoping the moderators fix things soon.

    good morning

Lorita I thought I posted a good morning yesterday. Maybe I was having issues too and didn’t realize it. I’ll try to make sure it gets posted this morning. They’re giving cloudy rainy days here too. So far we’ve not got very much rain. It’s kind of went to just the south of us.

glad your utilities are back on Carl. That’s always a good feeling.

Good neighbors are a great thing.

I hope to cook a little bit today . There’s a potluck after church service tomorrow so I’m gonna try to cook a little bit for that. I’m gonna make my nephew and I sone tuna salad to eat on. He likes that. I made us nachos a couple of days ago I hadn’t done that in a long time. It was really good. I told him he’s ruining my good eating habits. He said don’t blame me. I said I’m not.

My youngest sister is the only one that’s not retired. She’s 14 years younger than me so she still has a few years to work. She’s on vacation next week though . We are going to go plant shopping sometime next week good Lord willing. Two years ago this coming Tuesday is when I got septic and we had planned on going flower shopping that day. I didn’t get to go flower shopping that year. So anytime I get to go it’s a blessing it’s something I enjoy doing.

JeriLynne hope your storms didn’t get too rough.

Morning, I think you did, Mint but that was all. Just wondered if all was well. The things you're cooking sound good. Bet your. nephew enjoys everything. Enjoy flower shopping. I need to p look ant the ones I.bought.

Pretty morning and a cool 53. GPs are needing allergy shots and nail trim for Sheena. I can trim Stormys. I will Make an appt..next week and Darwin will help me get Sheena in the car Dread doing that but they're scratching and keeping me and them awake. I have thought about trying Aboquel. Really would make things easier. Has anyone used this? Sandy, I know you did, did it help?

Last night for about five minutex.both sides of my neck and mid chest hurt. Neck is kind of sore this morning. I have been lying in bed writing on the tablet so maybe that's the cause. Don't feel too good this morning, mentally and physically. Did feed the cats and birds and having my.juice. Think I might just stay in bed a while and watch the morning cooking shows.Nice to get a break from the rain. Back later.

Good morning Friends. Cool here, rained off and on yesterday. We are now, per the Iowa Drought Monitor, out of drought in our area. Some areas of Iowa are still dry. I got all my plants and seeds planted. Garden doesn't look like much, but by July it should be full of color. I do have blueberries, Virginia bluebells, daylilies and pale purple coneflowers coming yet (ordered online). I had such a beautiful, mature garden at the other house. Now I am starting over. The garden here won't be anywhere near as big as what I had at the other place, where I had a half acre lot and most of the backyard was flowers. 💐 🌹 🌼 🌺

    Hello Friends.

Lorita. Your so right, I do miss all the wildlife, that visited my backyard. Here I don't even see a squirrel. Sounds like you need to get some rest, maybe put a hot pad on your neck and shoulders, and stay off your feet for a few days.

GothicG.. I like cold coffee, so I do the same as you and Lorita. If my hot coffee gets cold it then becomes ice.

. My daughter and I did our first trip to Costco, few months ago. I did not like how crowded it was. The next time we went we got there a lot earlier. We now are Costco members.

Zetta that sounds like an awesome cruise! I'm sure they will enjoy it. So true how busy our fur family keeps us, that's a good thing. They've kept me from going over the edge since LO passed.

Speaking of trimming nails, I cannot trim Suzy's (she's my 4.5 lb. chi), they are black and I am afraid to cut the quick. I take her to the vet's to have them trimmed. When they first started trimming them years ago it was $12.50, it's steadily been increasing to the current rate of $29! Do you think that is reasonable and I'm being cheap? I take her once a month so it's not a big deal I just wanted to hear what you guys thought.

Sounds pretty high to me. Not sure how much our vet charges but used to be $5. I used to have a Shih Tzu and.I couldn't trim his either. My.problem is I.can't get Sheena in the car and she weighs 94 lbs.and I.can't lift her.I can trim.one nail before she rebels. No idea why there are so many periods in this post.

    Hope you're feeling better, Lorita.

It's sunny and breezy here, 60 degrees with fluffy clouds. Pretty day.

I took DS to visit DW today and he was a big hit with the ladies in MC. He told a funny story about a fellow RCF resident and had them all laughing. He's 50 so to them he is a young cutie and a welcome source of entertainment.

One of the servers at the diner is buying a "Get Well" balloon and card for DW this afternoon, so I'm going to go there and pick it up. And have a slice of that great-looking chocolate cake I saw in the dessert case at noon when I lunched with DS. Have a good evening.

Nice that your son and wife had a good vidit. I imagine the ladies did enjoy him being there. I know the they get lonesome even though they're with people. Pretty, cool day here. Rain is supposed to return Tuesday. Hope I can feel like getting the GPs over to vet for their allergy shots and nails trimmed. I have about 125 lbs.
