When my DH asks if he can help or I have something I would like him to do I ask him"Are you ready to work right now?" If he says yes I suggest a request, if he says "No," I try it again later in the day. Does it always work…no. But sometimes it does😊. It's A rough journey all around.

There three types of resentment, Resentment for what's happening in your life, Resentment because they no longer understand. And are constantly in need of care. But for me, and I think for a lot of people the worst resentment is after they're gone. When you're sitting at home alone and thinking about things that you did or didn't do and you regret that.

Unfortunately being resentful at the present time it's just a way of life for all of us. What I found helpful for me was whenever I was feeling sorry for myself or resentful because I just had to clean up some mess that she made or that I couldn't do something I wanted to do because I had to care for her,

I would give her a hug and I would tell her I love her and sometimes I would just sit beside her and And hold her hand because I knew that one day she would not be here for me to hug for me to hold her hand or for me to give her a kiss.

I hope that you have some kind of support that you can maybe get away for a couple hours a week Or have someone you can call and complain to all the time. Or get a journal and write in it, or pray talk to God tell him your problems, these things do help, But be careful this disease will destroy you as along with your husband. God's blessings to you Richard

The advice from beachwalker gave me teary eyes, but worth repeating.

We're all in survival mode here. Ain't no cavalry coming to "fix the problem" and cure our LO. Don't sweat the small stuff. Deal with the crisis-de-jour in front of you and stop worrying about all the possible future crises. Let go of the life you and your LO once shared. Accept and make the most of the remaining life you have left together, even if they are no longer who they use to be (and you are no longer the same person because of this new reality). Accept their illness. Do not take their illness and what it makes them say and do personally. Accept your new role as a caregiver and work hard to be the best you can be at it.
Keep them safe and comfortable and secure. Take care of yourself. Ask others to help. Never stop remembering who they once were (and still are underneath the illness).
