Recently diagnosed

I wanted to introduce myself and get involved. I am recently diagnosed with "mild cognitive decline" related to Alzheimers. I am a recently retired pastor and have cared for many Alzheimer patients and their family so I know what is ahead of me. I have a million questions and don't know where to begin. Thank you.

I was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s also. My biggest concern is that I have a spouse who has very little patience. She’s been this way her entire life so I doubt there’s any chance of that changing. Rather than fighting constantly, I’m considering moving in with my sister where I can actually live without the constant stress of having to deal with this. Any recommendations? Thank you for reading.

Hello. I have MCI/Alz diagnosed in Dec 2025. I am on a similar path as you and considering what I can do to secure my future care. I humbly suggest you reach out to your local Alzheimer’s group for support in decision making or consult a professional. It’s clear that chronic stress is not healthy.

    Wishing you all the best.🤗

I was first diagnosed in October 2025 (on my 71st birthday) and clinically confirmed in December of 2025. I have been self employed for the past 25 years and have come to the conclusion that I cannot go much further as such. My wife is super supportive, as such, both she and I are looking for supportive groups to educate ourselves.

Sorry you have reasons to join this great group. I was diagnosed with mild alzheimers July 14, 2025. I have not experienced many changes until now. I have started seeing the following changes: Word finding ( cannot come up with simple words), Apathy ( loss of interest, can just sit in the recliner all day without much motivation or interest, but try not to do this, losing train of thought at times, etc. I wish you the best on this journey. My plan is to "try" to live in the present, "try" to get some exercise on most days, eat healthy on most days, continue to encourage myself to stay busy. The TRY part is getting to be somewhat more of a challenge, but I'm not giving in to this. My next neurology appt. is in Sept. I declined the infusions after a lot of stress with the entire infusion program. I tred aricept, but didn't see improvement, only some side affects. Take care of yourself, and my prayers for all of us dealing with this diagnosis.

I am wondering if anyone knows if Medicare covers the infusions and if so, how much. I'm currently on arecept and I don't think it's really doing anything. I would really like to get the infusions because they seem to be more effective. Thank you.

Medicare does not cover Leqembi but I think I am going for my maybe 19th infusion and i have not paid a dime. I don't remember now how mine it is being covered but please see below.

    • How to reach them: Call 1-833-453-7362 (1-833-4-LEQEMBI) to ask about your specific coverage.

    2. Government Insurance

    • Medicare Part B: If you are on Medicare, Original Medicare pays for the drug and the infusion, as long as your doctor signs you up for a special registry to track your treatment.

I have standard Medicare and a supplemental policy with Blue Cross / Blue Shield. Between the two, I have a zero-copay for my Leqembi infusions. This past Wednesday I had my 47th infusion. If you are not so familiar with Leqembi infusion numbering, my first 40 infusions were bi-weekly. Now I am on "maintenance" dosing, which is one infusion every four weeks. So this was my 7th maintenance dose of Leqembi. The day after my infusion, I ran 6 miles on a treadmill and then swam laps in our condo pool. So as you can see, the infusions don't have any significant impact on my lifestyle.

yes it is covered, we have secondary insurance so not sure what additional cost would be, so far ours has only been a copay.

I was diagnosed Dec. 10, 2025 and had my first Kisunla infusion January 2026. After that, the insurance I’ve had went out of network with my provider. I was forced to change to Medicare A and B, also chose to get a Medicare Supplemental, I’ve had five infusions since and haven’t had to pay anything. Hopes this helps, I keep telling myself “ God’s got this “.

    Hi

I have an Aetna Medicare Advantage plan…and for the first certain amount of infusions on Leqembi, it was zero co pay, now for some reason I pay my normal office visit copay of $40 each visit which is:every two weeks. It is my understanding that without ins. It is I think $450 per each infusion.

Watching my dad struggle with Parkinson's disease and dementia was incredibly difficult. He experienced symptoms such as tremors, stiffness, slowed movement, balance problems, changes in speech, memory loss, confusion, sleep disturbances, and difficulty with everyday activities. Although he was prescribed medications like carbidopa/levodopa, we were still searching for additional ways to support his overall well-being. After learning about EarthCure Herbal Clinic, we decided to try their herbal wellness program alongside his ongoing medical care. In our personal experience, we noticed improvements in his comfort and quality of life. During and after following the EarthCure Herbal Clinic treatment plan,  my dad experienced noticeable improvements in his overall well-being and quality of life, and also Healed from his Parkinsons and Dementia in general.
