Saturday was a “normal” day so to speak

I don’t know what caused it but my DH seemed to be his old self. He spoke to me all day, without making accusations or getting angry. We carried on conversations as if nothing was wrong. It was a very rainy day here with tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings.

I decided to make zucchini nut bread. DH came into the kitchen and wanted to know what smelled so good. He licked to bowl after I put the bread into the oven. Wanted to know if I was making meatloaf for dinner, which I did make, along with corn and scalloped potatoes. DH helped with the cleanup afterwards.

I cut my leg on the edge of the dishwasher and it was bleeding like crazy. DH cleaned the wound and bandaged it for me.

At some point we had to hunker down because a tornado was near by. DH suggested we take water into the safe area just in case. The weather service lifted the tornado warning and we sat and watched the news like we used to do.

It was the first “normal” day in a very long time. DH thanked me for the day and the dinner and wished me a good night. I’ll take it because I don’t know how long this will last. 🙏🙏

What a beautiful day you were gifted. Like you said take it for now and save the experience. The other morning I went to check in on my wife who was still in bed sleeping. She looked so peaceful, her face looked 10 years younger. While I was standing there watching she opened her eyes, smiled, and said “you know I really love you “. I wanted to cry right there and then. Those moments are our blessings in this terrible journey.

DH is still talking to me without the anger and insults. It’s very touchy cause he’s asking me what he should do about resigning from his part time job. He’s already turned in his resignation but his boss is asking him to reconsider his decision.

I have to be very careful as DH has already accused me of controlling him. I’ve never controlled him and have always encouraged him in his decisions. DH is also asking my opinion on other things. We are talking and it appears he’s understanding what we discuss.

The neurologist sent him a message indicating his B12 levels are low and to start taking a B12 supplement. It’s a start and I’ll take it. DH still has to take the Bach exam. I’m going to try and encourage him to take the exam today. I praying that DH continues to communicate and will not get upset over taking the Bach exam.

One final plus, I was able to get him out of the house and try a new restaurant on Sunday. DH was thrilled and really enjoyed getting out of the house, he praised the restaurant not only to me, but to the staff. Again, I’ll take these days with him.
