How do I get my wife to eat or take her Medicine?
She did not eat or take her medicine yesterday. I had the Dr. send a letter to us telling her to take her medicine. That did work before and now she doesn't want to take it. As far as eating, we always ate breakfast, lunch, and supper at the same time. I didn't want to change that. Then she didn't want breakfast and then lunch she avoided. Last night no supper. I made lunch for her today and that was a no go. She said Kevin's mother was coming over and that we would wait for her. We don't know a Kevin.

As this disease progresses, our LO’s brains do not register when they are hungry or if they just are. My experience with my DW and her eating or taking meds, is a daily struggle and takes patience and ingenuity. For the meds I tell her these are her vitamins. Sometimes this works and other times it doesn’t. I bought a pill crusher that I use on the meds that can be crushed and mix them into some yogurt or ice cream. As far as eating, I try to keep finger foods around for my DW to eat when she wants to. That’s the key here, when she wants to eat. Traditional meal times no longer exist in our house. If I make something for our meal, I let her plate sit out way after I have finished eating. Sometimes she will go back to the plate and eat. We must get into their world to figure out what they want. It’s hard to do but hang in and keep coming back for more great advice here.

Persistence and continual asking works with the eating and drinking for us. DW will tell me she doesn't want a drink as she is taking a drink. Go figure. Same with eating. Now I make a lot of casseroles she can eat out of a bowl with a spoon whenever she decides. I also use a pill crusher and put the meds on PBJ toast.

It is amazing to me how DW's hunger is no longer a thing I even try to gauge. We are also at the stage where I keep snacks around but she very rarely initiates wanting one. I only cook one meal a day now because 1) It can take us all day to work through that meal. and 2) I certainly don't want or need to have 3 squares every day at this point. We don't even worry about if It is really breakfast or dinner time. Whatever sounds good and we have groceries for me to cook. BUT then you never know - This past week we harvested "fool you" jalapenos from our garden I made a cookie sheet of stuffed poppers with the intention of sharing a couple dozen with other family members. DW couldn't/wouldn't stop eating them almost as fast as I could bring them out of the oven. Over the course of 3 hours she ate everyone of them, about 35 in total. I don't know how she was able to do it and thank goodness they weren't real jalapenos. There you go - I don't have a clue what or when to feed her these days.

Thanks for the suggestions. My wife was diagnosed with Hypoglycemia years ago. That's why I try to get her to eat small meals morning ,noon and evening. So now I have to keep a close eye on her blood sugar.

What do I do when my wife considers our bathroom her house. I can't take a shower in there cause she get's upset with me. That's her place and her mother don't want me there. When I did take a shower ,she would take all the bed spreads off and throw them on the floor in the bathroom. She will start banging on the walls screaming at me. I moved my stuff into the smaller bathroom but the only problem is, that one is shared by our two sons. Right now they are not here but will return the end of next week. She does not take a bath or wash her hair. I try to do these for her, when she lets me. She calls me every name in the book and threatens to kill me. I also have been knocked down and punched. The worst part of the day is morning. I know it's not her and it gets to be hard on me sometimes.
