Got a call at 5 pm today that the long-awaited reassessment by my preferred MC facility (the one that wouldn't take her last year) is going to happen tomorrow. And they want me there, which I think is a good sign. At least I hope so. I almost hate to mention it because I will be so crushed if it doesn't fly. But at least it's a step towards an answer one way or another. You all are going to have to prop me up if it's another no, though.

So glad you all have my back. Leaving shortly. But interesting interim development: of course last night I let the current facility know what was pending. This morning, of all days--even though they've known this was pending for three months--the director calls me wanting to talk. Offers me a discount. I let him have it. This is not about the money, it's about the care (or lack of), the layout, the lack of communication. He is a nurse and while he know about the seven month (!) miscommunication about her toiletry supplies, he was unaware of the recent incident where they were concerned enough to x-ray her back but did it without informing me either of the procedure or the results. To his credit, he listened. I told him that I was still not sure whether the other facility will take her, and he offered that if they don't, he really wanted to work with me to come up with a better plan. Okay. but the timing sucks and reeks. I think the bridges are burning not by my doing, but theirs.

They said yes. So a move is imminent, probably in a couple of weeks, certainly within the month.

I had hardly let myself hope. but I know it's the right thing. Nothing is perfect, but this feels right.

I hardly know where to start. Thank you guys as always for all the support. It will be cause for celebration as soon as I let it really sink in.
