Pros/Cons of being in kitchen

I think an early-stage (ES) PWD being in the kitchen can be helpful to wellbeing, as it is better than watching TV all day. The PWD (my mom) can get frustrated is she can't find things, or makes mistakes, but on the positive side, feels she is being helpful, to be able to contribute and seems to enjoy it.

On the other hand, she may forget having salted food already and attempts to salt it twice or thrice or forget things and may burn food.

My solution is to be there together to make sure mistakes are not made, and it also makes it a cooperative task. Any thoughts? I suppose that eventually, it may become dangerous, but it seems to be a good thing while it's possible at an ES? I am there anyhow and it probably will offend her if I ask her to leave the kitchen, which she thinks as her place to be.
