ALZ, a time to laugh or chuckle, a time to cry

Just sharing a weird thing… DH in ES ALZ…We went to church and sitting in our usual aisle seat. ( I am immuno defecient so always try not to be between people). Some people wanted to be seated down the pew, so I bent my knees to the side to let them pass and DH flopped his legs up on the pew to let them pass. Yes, it's a small but weird thing to do. After getting over my initial reaction of being embarrassed (sp?) for him, I decided that this was something I could laugh (inside) about or cry about. It's not another lost memory, it's not being unable to carry on a coherent conversation, it's not the same question being asked again. I could chalk it up to loss of social awareness and probably be correct, but I just decided to see the humor of it and be grateful that he still remembers that we hold hands to pray, as we have done for so many years. I know that the time will come will that not be the case.

I enjoy posting the following conversation so if you've read it before, please forgive me.

This conversation happened some time ago between my wife of 44 years and me.

    Her: I can’t find him.

    Me: Can’t find who?

    Her: Your husband

    Me: My husband?

    Her: Yes, your husband.

    Me: I’m not gay

    Her: You’re not?

    I still laugh over it.
